I swear, after reading the fan's encounter at Coachella where KB chewed Askars a new a****** and he just stood there, took it and then followed behind her like some sick puppy and NOW seeing him walk her dogs...for the Paps...just makes me realize how p**** whipped he is. Askar's HOT, but such a disappointment to me :shucks:I wish he could channel Eric Northman when dealing with KB...hell...come to think of it, I wish Askars could just BE Eric Northman!! Of course that would mean only seeing him at night ;).

Yeah, the fan overheard KB yelling at Askars and saying something to the tune of "You pull this (walking off, apparently) EVERY F****** time". It was a real doozy apparently and Askars looked embarrassed but just let her rant like a crazy banshee and then followed her like a dummy...er...puppy.

wait she got angry at alex for not walking next to her??

omg just woke up from a 15 hr sleep. im so hungry !!

thanks for the pics santress!!!

it looks like the orginal one

kb didnt make it in the poster??

No she did not. So it's the Alex vs James movie now? they are the leads? Big switch from the original. Clearly Marsden negotiated first billing but it was Lurie who decided to promote Skarsgard to second lead with this poster...

I'm in agreement, no one is going to want to wait on the fairy stuff, no wonder they can give it away...

From what Rod Lurie said about different character expansion etc for Straw Dogs, as much I actually want this movie to succeed...the marketing for this is way OFF...could there have been a more direct rip-off from the original poster? Sorry...FAIL on the marketing so far.

Why Free - it has changed all the way from "every man" to "every one". Major evolution. sigh. Yes, this was very disappointing in the effect of what could have modernized the new release..

I think they may be banking on their target demographic not having seen the original so therefore having no point of reference. Still 99.9% of critics know the original and will be very unkind if its just shot by shot. They seem to be putting a lot of push into AS character and making the changes to it more at the front of any explanation as to why the remake was done. Which is not going to be fair on Alexander. All three leads are protaganists and all three leads need to be at the top of their game to make this movie succeed in the slightest, in the eyes of the critics.

The 1998 remake of Psycho done by Gus van Sant comes to mind. It was a scene by scene replication and was creamed by the critics. When you have actors and characters as strong as Dustin Hoffman or Anthony Perkins you need to pull of something amazing to even equal the original.

I have hopes for this film.. I think Alex will do well. But his performance alone won't get this movie over the line. So fingers crossed that James Marsden and Kate Bosworth ante-up and pull out some amazing performances of their own.

I think James Marsden might surprise, Kate Bosworth I don't know. She was decent in Girl in the Park and Wonderland. But her character in Straw Dogs is so unsympathetic that she will need to pull out all the stops to really make this role believable and I just don't honestly know if she has the chops to do it.

As to the marketing and leaving her out of it ie the poster. Thats not a mistake. I think they will be aware of the controversy about the rape scene and won't want to focus on it. So, for now...the marketing is about mano et mano rather than the rape of a woman.

yw, ladies! Thank, Syd!

Not sure about Hickey Freeman. Agree about Tom Ford. Armani, Prada, Versace, Ralph Lauren...he would look great in any of their ads. I'm surprised they haven't snatched him up yet.

We're slowly getting there with the new photo and the centerfold pages completely together. Hopefully we'll see these in HQ soon.

Kb character is hard to play. I don't know an actress who could pull it off. I've seen 2 of her films girl in the park on cable i thought she was weak in it and superan she wad terrible and missed . But I'm not really a movie expert and I don't watch that many films but from I've read about the movie and kb acting skills I dint think she can pull it off. And will she have a southern accent like alex ? Cus her accent in the worrior's way was terrible

Alex is pretty much carrying this movie imo. If you watch the trailer it's all Alex (Alex with his shirt off :graucho:) and so on and so forth. All these spreads and pictures of our boy is getting us read for SD (not just TB where it's not just Alex but a general ensemble.)
