I think unless things change after True Blood premieres...that I'm going to get proved wrong with what I thought about Straw Dogs previously. I've got no shame in saying that...there seemed to be a ramp up for it until about a month and half ago and then it just dropped off. The only thing I can think of is that the focus for him is now on True Blood..it still doesn't explain the sudden nosedive in mentions though.
It could be that there are things going on behind the scenes because of their relationship...but the reality is, actors, no matter how popular they are, just have to suck it up and do their job like the rest of us.They have a product to sell and they need to get out there and get bums on seats. In fact, they tend to do junkets and MORE PR when the movies really stink...
ITA. They all should be doing interviews regarding the complexities of their characters in SD, however all I hear is the deafening silence. James Marsden was promoting Hop on Chelsea Lately, yet their was no mention of SD. Some people have stated that it was because one was G rated and the other R rated...that's never stopped people mentioning all the projects of an interviewee before. I still maintain if it was any good it would have been at Cannes, Sundance or Tribeca. Who knows, it still might go straight to video in this tight economy.
This review of KB in Another Happy Day never failed to give me a chuckle:
"After everyone talks excitedly about the absent sister of the groom, who has a habit of cutting herself (another Sundance cliche) and who is played up as excitedly as Harry Lime in "The Third Man," she finally enters the picture and turns out to be....Kate Bosworth? Not really in the same league as Nicole Kidman or Anne Hathaway, I'm afraid. I'm mystified why Bosworth even has a film career. She belongs in pictures all right -- magazine pictures, not moving ones. She's been around for more than ten years and still hasn't made an impression."
