I've just been able to checkout the Jewelmint timeline: a couple of thoughts.The game is afoot Dr Watson and Skars is part of it. I've no doubt Kate is the more comfy of the two with the PR but to swipe her with the majority of the blame,without giving Alex a clip on the ear,is very naive now after seeing that.

Its very subtle but the allowance of his name with both her and a tackymint mention, speaks volumes as there is no way he wouldn't have sanctioned it. Its no secret i'm no fan of Kate, but in a way he is letting her take the brunt of this and needs to man up.

Sometimes a photo is just a photo. Sometimes he really is pissed at the paps. And sometimes, he's playing the game as well as,if not better than,Kate herself is

Always was of this opinion, as you usually say, it is what it is.

^^Oh he is definitely apart of the fame...er...I meant, game. He has been from day one. No one is this blind. And his name would not keep being used without his permission. And those little mention/non-mentions she keeps doing of Alex in her interviews...he is aware. No doubt. From Broken Bells to that little JM blog post...Clearer now more than ever.

OK, he's part of the PR but I mean he must've noticed it didn't turn out to his advantage. Why still keep going on with it? Unless that's what he wanted which would be sad. I didn't rate him as the "famous and no credibility" guy.

Maybe he thinks this kind of press isn't so bad at this stage of his career. I mean, it's not like he's a mega star being offered amazing roles.

Hmm...I think Alex is on board with a lot. He is resistant to a lot, it seems. As far as the marketing of the relationship, he is on board, I think, but again he only goes so far. The fact that he won't speak has done more damage to the marketability and to KB than anything. Also, there is the issue of PDA or just taking a picture together. All of KB's last relationships were full of it. Cameras or no. As a marketing strategy, it works. Again he is resistant to it. Whether it is an issue of support or not re the Nylon party. I think he has backed himself in a corner there because what else could he do? There were probably 8 people there. (Coincidentally some of the from Straw Dogs.) We don't know if it was a private party for certain. At least I don't. I just know what the captions on the pictures said, what JJ said, and what RB...er...the LA Times tried to cover up. Alex as a man has been getting ripped by many women (his base audience) for letting KB take these hits, walking in front of her, ignoring in public, etc...We already know that there have been a huge amount of PR corrections. Seems like everything we say is corrected. So again, what else could he do. Either way, boyfriend or PR strategy, he had to be there. That area is to murky for me to make a concrete decision yet, re his support or his job.

As for Straw Dogs. This was a bad strategy. We have been saturated with them as a couple. The line has been blurred from them as actors and them as a couple. A lot of people are going to be looking for the chemistry that is non-existent in the few pictures we have of them together. While looking for that chemistry, it is going to take the focus off the acting and onto Alex and KB. So then, when you get to the rape scene (which is appallingly horrific) all I would see is Alex rapping his girlfriend. That to me is completely repugnant. They tried too hard to push the KB/AS love story and they deliberately caused questions and examinations with the are they/aren't they stuff. So now the focus won't be on the movie. It will be on them. This was a stupid strategy. Acting or no, that is just vile. That is supposed to be his girl.

To add: This is my OPINION

Maybe they want the controversy. For all I know.

Actors who are real life couples traditionally don't last after controversial sex scenes. I feel this film will get some acclaim from the industry but it will be shunned by the masses.

This film makes me think of Eyes Wide Shut. Critical Acclaim, Real life couple in taboo sex scenes, and lots of controversy prior to the release. Soon after film Tom and Nicole divorced

We should set them up unconspicuously at the same eatery (preferably Joan's) where they "accidentally" run into each other. They look each other in the eyes and fall in love at first sight. Alex starts talking about his latest addition to his plaid collection and Charlize tells him how much she likes to wear denim. They decide for a second date at the gym because the couple that works out together stays together, you know. And from there it's just a little step to engagement and unbelievable beautiful children.

Concerts are something for the fourth date, you know (did you never see 9 songs?). Because you know how it is afterwards. You're heated up from all the good music and dancing. There's a hot man standing next to you who wants to bring you home and then, sometimes, you make inconsiderated decisions like inviting him in. One thing leads to another and all of a sudden the next morning you're waking up to Alexander Skarsgard and you're name is Charlize Theron and the whole fandom cheers like there's no tomorrow because salvation came upon us.

Don't you think that was my first thought? But as you know Alex is a bit stubborn. So if I'd came up to him and say, "Here Alex, please take this woman instead of that woman. We all would be happy" I don't think Alex would do that. Out of pure stubbornness he would say, "No, I stick with what I got." So we have to be a bit more subtle and that's why I came up with that scenario which is REALLY subtle.

Sydney, funny you should mention the newsagent. My other half (plus our 4yr old & 10mth old) and I had a brush with the not-so-rosy side of life today while we were in one this morning.
We'd just finished paying for our magazines when a seedy young guy made a run for the door with a charity box for children's cancer. He had a knife. He was right in front of me, I was holding the baby. Hubby and another guy tackled him & held him.
I did see the magazine but bought Instyle.
In some ofthe wilder places overseas we have lived,we have seen much worse, but this shook me because ofmy kids.Sorry to go offtopic
