Yes I agree 100 percent....I love Adele, however did not like any of her songs until 'Hello'. She is definitely overrated her voice is good but not great.

She is not on Whitney or Michael level. The media always compare white artist to black ones to show they are better. I smell the bs. Same with Justin timberlake, beiber, and others. No shade just truth

They are all amazing in their own lanes but are unique and different IMO.
I totally forgot she was going to be on SNL. The video of her singing "When We Were Young" made me cry.

I would actually compare Adele to Joni Mitchell or Carole King, who were also extremely talented writers and singers. I'm over 50, and grew up listening to these ladies and crying to the lyrics. Whitney never wrote any songs, great voice, but not a writer.
In the 38 pages of this thread, you're the only one bringing up a comparison to Michael Jackson or Whitney Houston.
Why does she need to be compared to anyone? She has a fantastic unique voice that's hers, and her successes are hers. No need to compare.

I think her voice is strong and beautiful and stands out RIGHT NOW in time compared to their artists. JMO.

Yep, it is opinion only. The appeal of Adele, to me, is the memories of listening to Joni, Carole, and Carly Simon. Beautiful voices and meaningful lyrics.
Abc news just called her the next Whitney Houston. Another media outlet called her the next Michael Jackson. They do this all the time with white artist who they think music sounds r&b or soul. They did it to Justin timber lake, joss stone, and other white Artist who sing or try to sing that kind of music. I'm not trying to sound racist or anything but I see it all the time. If Adele was black singing the same music she wouldn't get half the recognition.
