Ad integration as Stickies?

I just noticed this on the Hermes forum and see it here too. Is it intentional to have ads posing as legit threads? (I believe in the past this was turned off).

The sticky Nordstrom thread is not an ad, it's an actual thread from the shopping forum.

But why does it appear in all forums, including this one? Normally only stickies from within a forum show while you're in that forum, but not in others.

It's temporarily a global sticky because the Anniversary sale has a big following from shoppers across many of the subs on TPF.

As you can tell, it's a massively fast moving thread, probably among the most popular on TPF all year. In a few days it'll be unstuck.
