A new Coach Line called Snoopy?

Just saw this on EBay,

I wonder I think the person added the crystals herself, nice job!

Obviously NMA

 Ooooh nice! Now I want to bling one, only I want to fill in the Snoopy, not just outline.

Good point, and she is trying to sell 2 of them! The fact that it's described as NWT? For me not so much anymore after she's altered the piece.

Granted I don't know the price of Swarovski crystals but.........I also wonder how strongly they're adhered to the wristlet. That would worry me a bit.

If they're genuine Swarovski, they can be spendy. They also sparkle like mad and the difference between those and the cheapies is easy to spot.

I was thinking about trying it on my own wristlet, any ideas?

Ha! Me too! I'd stick with real Swarovski crystals, and E-6000 glue is great stuff (and can be messy, mask off the rest of the wristlet to be safe). I am NOT a bling pro, but have dabbled in it. This makes me even more antsy to get my art/craft studio back in order. I had to squeeze stuff in and rearrange a lot to get the behemoth printer in there. And tonight find that Ikea is out of stock on the Alex I need to hold the beast. So now I get to trip over it until... ??? Who knows.

I wonder what a tote would look like blinged?

Edit: The red wristlet looks great, but I'm not loving the bling on the white. To me, the chalk items worked well with the regular outline, but I could see where the red needs some help because the red/black contrast just isn't there.

Stardustgirl, I should have asked all my questions.. How many wax sticks do I need? Do you used,a syringe to apply the glue? Any other tips? I'm a first-timer.

I'm definitely not a pro, so I'd suggest going to YouTube and searching on "bling" to find some people doing videos because that's a great way to see what works (and what doesn't). I'd think one wax stick would do. When I did a couple of things I didn't invest any $$ into extra tools and had a diy wax stick - basically a blob of museum putty (aka quake wax) on the end of a calligraphy pen handle. It's similar to that white putty stuff you can use to put posters on a wall. It's tacky, but not super sticky. I tend to grab whatever's handy when I'm just trying something out. I was also working with larger crystals.

I'd do a practice run on something else first. It sounds easy but it's a bit fiddly.

For blinging this, I'm looking at the Crystal Katana tool which is a *real* tool and probably necessary for putting stones this tiny on a surface that I really, really don't want to mess up. I won't be trying this soon as I've got a "to-do" list with projects lined up like planes on a runway, but I do want to try a full Snoopy bling on a red wristlet.

Question, I like this surrey satchel but I'm wondering if there is limited quantities made of it. It is not numbered, but from the 2014 release. From I hear even though it was not numbered not many were made? Is this true? Is it worth the expense? Is it available at the outlets? Any info would be appreciated.

This style of the Surrey was sold out months ago; even at the remake, there were maybe only 30 or so that could be ordered. You'd have to strike gold to find one of these at the outlets, imo. So far, I believe only the second edition Surreys (the one with shadow Snoopy) were found at Woodbury. As for whether the first edition satchel is worth the expense, that all depends on how much you like the design, and whether having it on leather, not canvas (like the outlet Bennett) is important to you. Good luck deciding.

There are two versions of the 1st collection of bags. The first version was numbered and sold out quickly. Many people had their orders cancelled. As a result of that, Coach made a 2nd version that is not numbered and allowed those people whose order was cancelled to reorder.

I doubt there is any available at the outlets but who knows? As for the price, the true value is up to the buyer.

Thanks for your suggestions, I did look around online a bit and ordered the crystals and the wax "jewelers" stick. I got the ten pack because it was cheaper. My local Joann's and Michael's only had small packages of the crystals so I had to order online to get a cheaper larger quantity. The sources I read said not to use the heat tools on leather and recommended the E6000 for best adherence properties. i bought some of that and the syringes with tips to apply. I am not very good at making due with a toothpick or whatever and I really don't want to mess it up.

I don't know what to practice run on, if that makes sense.

I'm prejudiced because I have this one, so I'd say it's worth the expense but really it's something only you can decide. At this point, I think if you found one for the original retail price of $450, it would be a good buy. They go on eBay for quite a bit, probably because (as it's been pointed out) they were extremely limited even with the re-makes.

Just scored these on zulilly.com. They're having a Peanuts sale today.

Noooo!!! I can't looook!!!! :cray: I have to buy a circular saw... not Snoopy.

*sigh* Those are really cute.

I don't own a pair of snoopy earrings so I couldn't resist! I would love a pair of 14kt gold ones but I haven't seen any yet.

A company called IEI in Japan is your best bet for finding 14kt. They've made Peanuts jewelry for years and it's really nice. Here's a link to a listing for the silver version of their 65th anniversary Snoopy earrings, but you can see the gold one as well.

Practice on anything - whatever scrap material you have around (or grab a remnant at Joann's if you don't sew). If you wanted the closest match to what you'll be dealing with, a scrap of vinyl would work. You want to get used to the feel of holding the stick and maneuvering the tiny stones with something that can survive having glue get where it's not supposed to before you do the real item. Grab some of the cheap acrylic "crystals" from Joann's or Michael's and practice with those before using the more expensive Swarovski crystals. Actual hand's-on is 1000 times better than anything you can watch or read. :smile1:

Yes, everything I've read says hotfix is not for leather.

Thanks, I will do that, I think I have a small leather sample I ordered from.somewhere I can use. I hadn't thought about getting the cheap crystals to practice with either, good idea! I guess I make another Joann's or Michael's trip!
