comments: there is one thing that puts me off, but I'm no expert and I want to doublecheck. Leather is dry but if it stays at that price this bag could make a nice DIY restoration project à la Docride

MAryg1, I do not think this is a good bag to buy. The handle is dead. Meanning if you have a new handle made at Hermes, your bag will look unbalanced because the body is too floppy and too vintag-y... If I may say so.
I would wait for the right one.It will come ...

That handle looks very bad, I agree... but not sure it is not original. I think it is original but the inside part is broken and the outside stretched with time because the bag was too much loaded. Or : it was already replaced by a non Hermes craftperson and the result is anyway that you'd have to get a new one...

Let's put it this way : the body of the bag is authentic !

IMHO, this is authentic. A friend of mine has one in blanc cassé lizard and this boxcalf appears identical. I am, however, concerned about the worn corner on the top edges by the clasp. HTH.

Agree - would ask to see clear pics of the wear, to see if you can live with it.
