HI! Please tell me what that saying means? LOL! I've guessed its bad news but, at least i got my hubby to pay with his card!! He's a lawyer so he can sort it out!
Ouch!! I sincerely hope you weren't the winner?? I'm NOT an expert by any means, but the bag (& seller) seems to be pretty much dubious. If so, then nothing is lost yet - you have many ways of recourse via paypal / ebay or the CC-company if all else fails (visit the ebay-subforum).
I have Asperger's too :ghi5: (LOL that's one of the reasons why I try not to post too much on online forums - got kicked off a few already :shame:)
(The saying means, basically: we're all fallible in various ways, but it's allright.)
And welcome to the forum! :flowers:

You are the winner of this auction ?

Please do not send any money.

Someone has to report this item first and hopefully you will be released from any obligation of buying it.

tokku. I looked at the pix and most are worthless for authentication purposes. From what I can see, the bag is most likely not authentic.
I'm surprised... Most of the time I am certain, but I could have almost sworn this seller was legit. My friend bought an authentic Bolide from her. Sorry, could you please have one last look. I am in the middle of a deal with her and also sent this to the third party service authenticators... and they gave me a different response. They requested the following photos, which I am also attaching here, which is also from that gallery page:

I would have posted it this way to begin with but was trying to follow the original TPF guidelines -

Item: Hermes 35cm Gris Tourterelle Gray-Beige TOGO Birkin Bag
Item #: 330404767816
Seller: *patina*
Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=330404767816

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, thank you all.

tokku, I know nothing about the seller and do not think she has sold Hermes before. For this amount of money you can stick to a known, tried and true reseller of Hermes. Someone else needs to give you an opinion. I am going to pass on saying that this bag is authentic.

Dear tokku,

I have inspected all the pictures from the seller's link you posted and inspected them individually, in the largest size and definition. Very closely.

I can't give you a green light. Sorry.
There are very subbtle things that I can't let go through....

The bag look very nice, globally very good. But when it comes to authentication, we have to make sure. To make sure on this one, I had to dig deep in the details, and well... there is a doubt.

Ai ai... gracekelly thank you; I understand that and agree it is a lot of money; actually the deal is for lower than the BIN price... and so that is why I am considering.

You had earlier indicated that there was only one photo so I directed you to their link where they have 28 photos,

then your assessment was that the photos were too many that are irrelevant/cosmetic (which I agree with you, too many photos and the viewer has to scroll all the way or wait for all of them to load). So I was finally able to pull the JPG files which were relevant (at least as per the third party authenticators). I think those are the photos you were looking for, right?

Now your response is regarding the seller and not about the photos, so I want to ask whether or not you think based on the photos they look good, because I will be comparing the photos to the bag. You are right it is a lot of money, even at a negotiated price, so your opinion is important to me.

At one point she had a few H bags - got an alligator Bolide authenticated here as well. Anyways, gracekelly you seem to have a keen eye so your expert assessment of these photos which you were looking for would be greatly appreciated.

As for other experts out there (because now I'm worried), can you please chime in? Thank you so much, gracekelly and others, in advance. The value you bring to this forum is immeasurable.

Thanks so much, perlerare. I think you might be the one who authenticated the black alligator Bolide. I appreciate your take.

Does this mean the bag is likely fake? I want to alert her because she is offering 2x money back guarantee... she obviously is confident it is authentic
I was ready to go, esp with the authentications and all... was eyeing this for weeks, researching the leather (togo vs clemence) etc., and added this here as an afterthought and glad I did

The other Gris Tourtortelle that they have on Ebay are all over 10k.... sigh...

Thank you all so much

I don't think anyone is able to say the bag is fake. I also don't think anyone is able to say the bag is good.

Not every bag presented here will get a resounding "yes" or "no" vote. In this case I think you will simply have to accept that this is one of those cases, and make your own decision on how to proceed. I am afraid I don't think you will get any more definitive answer. You have heard from GK and Perlerare, the best!

Words of wisdom indeed. You are right - either bite the bullet and move forward and take it to H for a cleaning, (because then I'll be sure), or move on and wait for one with the price and condition I am looking for.

I gave you my opinion about the bag. I have a doubt. Enough for me to stay away in a fiirst step.

My opinion about this seller is that they are far from beeing expert at Hermes and that does not make my doubt thiner...
But they seem very honest and serious about their business.

So one way could be to ask them how they know the bag is authentic. Any information about the bag's history ? etc....

I think this is your key.

tokku,I am puzzled as why you are being so persistent about this particular bag. Perlerare and I have, independent of one another, indicated that we can not wholeheartedly say this bag is authentic. If you wish to go forward with it, it is your choice and your money. I don't think it needs to be discussed any more. Continuing to do so will only make it appear to me that you are trying to convince yourself of authenticity. It certainly will not convince me.
