227 Metallic Dark Red OR 227 Silver??

The "foily" effect makes it easier to maintain since the distressed metallic will disguise scratches, whereas the smoother metallic will show scratches and wear more visibly. Lambskin metallic is worse, IMO! Pretty hard to maintain. But it will depend on how you use it. Sorry I'm not being much of a help... I have a purple metallic 226 and had the grey metallic lambskin, and I'd have to say the metallic purple (distressed calfskin) is better in terms of wear-ability and peace of mind.

So my vote goes to the red w/ goldhardware!

Bottomline... metallics aren't advisable as an everyday bag.

if the metallic dark red comes with the silver or ruth HW, i would go for it! however, somehow with the gold HW, i personally find it a little too much. hence, my vote goes to the silver.

Definitely silver. I love a red bag, but somehow the dark red & gold HW combination just comes off looking a bit tacky to me. The silver one is classic, elegant, and more understated. Good luck on your choice

I vote red, yesterday i was wearing all black with my patent deep red chanel bag and i had so many complaments regarding bag, it is a bit larger style bag than i like and was concidering selling it but after yesterday keeping it and will make use it get used, good luck with your descision

I vote for the red. I own the 2008 red and love it. I have received tons of compliments when I wear it. I have attached some links to an old post showing some modeling pics. This is a great shade of red and goes with a lot. I wear it with jeans, dresses, whatever. It is not as flashy as you would think from a picture. I own 3 other metallics (the textured kind - not the flat metallic) and they have held up great. No scratches, wear or peeling. I personally prefer the textured metallics to the flat metallics, but of course that is personal preference.

I'm all for metallic dark red! It's a stunning bag! I'm not a big fan of silver bags and prefer the dark metallics in general, but if that's what you will use more, go for it!

@MissBV: I dont think so...cos i saw posts with the same Metallic Dark Red dated back 2008. so, my guess is, its 2008 collection. wonder why there are still quite a few ard..

@Clandy: Thanks. Another constructive advice. Wish i had bagged a few of the textured metallics. Saw some pics on them in the forum. Absolutely in love with the Metallic Dark Grey n Purple! too bad i missed the boat.
