And amazing to make scarves into a blouse! You are so inventive ❤️❤️..
Yes, bags would have made for quite a shopping spree xx

Sending love to DH…

Pretty sure it's AW99

I didn't take a pic. I hardly ever take pics unless something is mine.

2 piece.
Dark navy, brown leather trim.
Cropped, close fitting jacket
A-line skirt
My size. Pristine, no alterations.
Looking at the pics from the catwalk all the silhouettes were cut very close to the body.
Bar-closure in silver tone, no buttons. Concealed zips
Lambskin trim both pieces.

This was the silhouette that season. My Chanel python jackets are cut from the same pattern.

I know.

I do have several Chanel jackets including SS01, also close the body. I have to make sure not only to I collect and wear but wear often. I already have a pile for Vinted (most retro vintage or will never fit me again label stuff).

1. The Hermes had to come first. I missed out on the same Italian tailor's suit the last time about 6 years ago. That jacket fits like a glove - just better. Also my size (38) and completely unaltered.
Even though it has a single vent, it lays down flat and hangs beautifully
Single breasted but/and strong shoulder line that end exactly with mine.
The revers echo and frame my face and are wide enough to add strength to the shoulder
Not too dark, not too bright, not too yellow, not too blue.
Add any colour jeans/denim good to go, similarly mini/straight/pencil most colours. Total classic in an interesting colour.
2. Skirt is ingenious, I am going to have so much fun with it this Summer - and layered later.
Literally my perfect colour. I could even wear it as a scarf.

I got two weeks. The Chanel is not being kept for me but his customers are not Knightsbridge they're other collectors. Nothing is online. I don't think the non-couture/non-buttons/non-statement will suit them (although you never know) nor his textile people.

I think the deal is I know had I not bought the H pieces I'd be upset, the Chanel I need to test.

I was looking at the Saint Laurent scarves. I didn't appreciate how many beautiful brings there were. I could have gone mad. Also, he had a shocking pink Cartier carré I may ask him to keep. I mustn't go mad.

It sounds like Heaven!

Think carefully about the suit..and whether you will be disappointed if you Don’t buy it…❤️

I’ve just received a parcel from Harrods with Skims bralettes and a Clinique bright pink lipstick for the summer.

Thank you!

I love the sound of your buys for the Summer. I'm a big fan of bright pink lips 👄 .

And, apologies. Suit is AW01. I am doing a lot of research which is a good sign I am serious.

I’m so glad you’re now able to look at the gift box as a happy thing vs a blessing.

And a huge congrats to your friend for making progress on her addiction! The heady high of getting a new “thing” can be hard to resist for all of us but I can’t imagine the pain it would cause when it goes from fun to burden. I’m wishing her continued progress and personal peace.

Re: my now larger collection. I used to sell / flip my bags quite a bit. I had the opposite issue. I never felt “ok” about spending on my bags (despite being well within my means to do so) and would sell bags or other things in the house to fund new purchases. I know now this harsh internal control came from childhood trauma based in lack. That insight allows me to freely curate my collection without misplaced guilt or ridiculous antics to justify buying. Hopefully your friend finds the source of her craving and can solve it at its root so she is set free.

To this point, I want to honor two of my buddies here for their influence on my healthy curation. @dcooney4 gave me the great idea to manage to the space I have. This is so helpful as I don’t like clutter. So I built a specific space in my closet to house what I feel is a reasonable (plus some :giggle:) amount of bags. I’m learning now to live within that space.

And seeing @papertiger ‘s lovely collection has helped me get over the need to chase trends. I feel comfortable and confident in curating a collection perfect for me which means I no longer feel I need to sell my lesser used or off trend (at the moment) bags. They happily live in my wardrobe for the times they serve me and my chosen outfit of the day. This change in my psyche has greatly cut down on my frantic selling and flipping.

I love how everyone here influences me to be better not only with my bags but also, oftentimes, in life. I love you - my purse peeps!
We love you right back.

After quite a bit of shifting and adjusting shelves (and a lot of internal whining LOL!), I have been able to get all 43 bags placed and arranged. I did have to put two bags behind others which is an outcome I don’t like. So, I may need to spill over into the empty shelf top left of the main tower. I didn’t want to do that as I have it earmarked for something else.

In any case, seeing all my babies back in their home made me very happy. :amuse: I need to enjoy this before DD comes “shopping” again. LOL!

Part of me feels like I need to move to a one in / one out approach but I have zero desire to sell any of these bags. So I’m reminding myself that I don’t have to pay an arbitrary penalty if I decide to purchase a bag. Any additions just need to be well thought out so that they’re “worth” the expenditure in both money and space.

I am waiting on the arrival of the bag I bought on the 7th and wondering if I should return it and wait. The luxury goods market is being upended with China being transparent about how much of the products they manufacture (vs Italy and France) and how little the items actually cost. I love the free flow of info but also have no idea what impact that will have on the handbag market. Anyone have a guess or a clue? Will prices collapse? Will the resale market dry up? Will handbags cease to be a luxury item? :shrugs: I’m looking at all the tariff fall out like it’s a bad movie you can’t help but watch.

Oh my - stunning!
I know you’re not thrilled with having to put a couple bags behind another, but it’s still gorgeous.
I got nothin’ on what the tariffs are going to do to the resale market - but if things in general are getting more expensive, I think people might look more to that option. But I don’t really know.

It looks fantastic!

I think the resale market should grow since the tariffs won't apply to them, and relatively the prices are better. I think a lot of people were already aware that things were made in China and just finished in Italy and France so they could put the made in tag on them without having to admit they were made in Asia. It won't matter to some people as they feel they are paying premium for the designer, not the labor or materials. I've read that the younger generation already don't care about luxury so the luxury market may have already been in trouble as their customers age. But this has happened in the past and there will probably be a new generation that will appreciate luxury.

I feel like manufacturers have known at least since 2020 that they needed to at least diversify where they manufacture instead of relying completely on China. Why didn't more of them do something about it sooner?

I'm wondering if since the profits on some of these items are so big that they won't have to raise their prices as much as people think. They will just have to be willing to have a smaller margin.
