You made me think! The white/cream bags are totally different styles, but they are all feminine, confident, chic and quite classic.

I've noticed that many of us on this thread have a strong and consistent personal style aesthetic whether through the years, existing collection, buying new or preloved.

It has made me think what are my 'constants'? :wondering:
Being constantly fabulous!

March stats

1 bag in - a 3€ fixer upper from the fleemarket.

IMG_20250324_222247517.webpIMG_20250324_222310308.webp

It got a new goatskin lining ( from an ugly old leather coat purchased for exactly this purpose ages ago.)

No bags out, No slgs in or out. I've been using a Coach wristlet as a coin purse and a medium Dior wallet from the Trailer Trash collection for quite a while and like both.

I bought some " old clothes" from a rag stall at the fleemarket this month including a navy knee length mens raincoat. It's perfect to wear right now, because of its removable wool lining. ( And looks really great paired with the me- made shearling bag I'm finally using.)
The purchases that are still in the mail will count for April.

Ohmigosh - these are so beautiful!

Well - that’s super cute!

The hug is very cute… but I looked at them last week and I don’t think it will work for me. In the medium size it’s quite heavy and not easy to get into - but worst for me was the very forward ‘lean’ of the bag. The smaller bag is darling but a PITA to get into - you’d have to undo both tiny clasps!
I love my yellow Trifolio though!
Thanks for the insight on the Hug! A heavy bag is a no go. And I hate it when bags lean.
You really have to opt for your personal happiness. When you love your job stay! I must admit I'd grab early retirement immediately... I am happy at home and dreading that I will have to go back to work when DS turns 18. I haven't been there since 1997.... and haven't ever missed it. Quitting would mean to lose my healthcare and the small but guaranteed pension I will get when I go back and stay until retirement age. But I have never loved my job.
I love what I do but hate working in corporate. So a new job would be a bit of Hell for me. And it would be hard to stay motivated to deal with political / bureaucratic foolishness when I wouldn’t “need” the paycheck.

I think I need to find a different mission / avocation. It may be a twist on what I do now or something completely different. But, right now, I have no clue and I’m trying to be ok with that.

March Stats

March has been overshadowed by the sudden decline in my Mother’s health-I was there yesterday, the doctor has said that she could go at any time..my Dad said he is just waiting for it to happen.

Apart from that, I have succeeded in keeping my clothing ban.

Clothing-6 out, 0 in YTD -15 out, 0 in.

It ends with a day trip for my birthday , originally planned mid April(my birthday is the 19th), rearranged for the 2nd, unless the worst happens, just to give me a break to prepare me to face my worst nightmare , plus the hysteroscopy I’m waiting for an appointment for.

Bags-0 in, 0 out.

SLG-0 in, 0 out.

Jewellery -0 in, 0 out.

I don’t know how I’ll get through April…

Major kitchen sink drama all week. My washing machine backed-up water-waste pipes and so I had a flood.

Thankfully pipes sorted yesterday with the help of my wonderful neighbour. I still have to address my kitchen flooring which has stained with dirty water

Think back to when you were a child, what did you want to do?
Were you artistic?
Were you a scholar?
Were you an humanist?
Take it from there.

Funny you should ask:
I was artistic It paid better than working for a living too
I am a scholar, the pay is not great, but you can't have everything.
I am more 'posthumanist' than humanist (which what I'm writing about now).

The article I had published was on the cult tailor Mark Powell and his work/times in London Soho. It's his 40 year anniversary this year.
The article I'm working on currently is about the origins of the posthuman in art and the relationship between the creator (artist) and the created (art). I'm using a German, Weimar-era, Bauhaus artist to make my point. The deadline is in August, but I have another on a similar subject to do as well but on a British music artist.

Congratulations on your stats - a ton out of the house is amazing!
But - boooooooo - to your plumbing woes! I’m so glad your neighbor was able to help - finding plumber quick (which is when you always need them - like right now) is virtually impossible!

One way I'm avoiding spending on frivolous items is channeling funds toward upgrading the bathroom at my summer cottage. It started out as "I need a larger capacity hot water heater" and somehow I'm now not only remodelling the shower area but also adding an outlet for EV charging for those trips when I have an electric rental car. Luckily I have a partner who enjoys doing this kind of stuff and most of it was his idea, but I'm paying the electrician and buying all the materials.

Yes, it's free!

March stats… Not so good…

Purses in or out - 2 in, 0 out. I have been feeling the need for a medium sized navy purse. I sold the Dalvy (which was too small and was really for my Imaginary Life), and the Dior BeDior is at the other house, meaning I only had the Picotin here with me - and it is a smallish bag though it does hold quite a bit. So I searched for a month and finally decided on a Fendi 2Jours - lovely smooth dark blue leather with a darling pink interior.

I had several bags in mind though and one was a very cute Tory Burch - a drawstring tote (which I’ve never had so we’ll see that it goes) with burgundy trim and marvelous smooth leather - so I bought it too.

Scarves in or out - 1 in, 1 out - the in is an HG moussie - an Ecume and zomg - it is worth the 7 year search.

I wore 7 bags last month - most worn was the black Dior Lady.

Finished 2 books - An Academy for Liars and The Housemaid; currently reading The God of the Woods, and Did Ye Hear Mammy Died.

No donations, no major home repairs. The furniture we purchased in January for the office arrived, and it is very nice - OH and our blinds/shutters finally came so we have NATURAL LIGHT in the bedrooms! That sunlight (even on a gray day) makes me feel so much better!
