Mr. Sparkle arrived home last night and gave me the bag he’d purchased for me for Valentine’s day. (You may remember I wanted to see it with the Chanels to decide what I wanted to keep.)
His gift is the Lanvin cat hobo bag in black w/ghw.
I’ve never owned Lanvin before so this is my introduction to the brand.
Overall, it is a beautiful bag. I’ve loved these bags since they launched for their unique style. It holds more than it looks like it would so it has some practicality.
My only concern may be one I’ve made up in my head. The cat handle is much lighter than I would have expected. That’s a great thing from a wearability standpoint point but I feel like it should feel more substantial in my hand.
I really believe I’m overthinking it. Now I need to decide if she stays. I have 2 days before the return window closes
My 100% satisfaction rule is coming in handy. Will I absolutely love this bag a year from now…

I’m wondering if an organizer made specifically for this bag would change things? While the current organizer may fit in the bag, I suspect the fact that the bag tapers in at the top is the issue: The current organizer is just enough taller than where the taper of the bag starts and, since the leather is soft, it shows.I love my YSL monotone cabas but it is such a continuing problem.
I’ve mentioned I was frustrated because it’s soft so when I wear it, it sags a bit.
Then I tried a purse organizer that I bought for another bag in it and it fits (I think??) but it shows these lines and dents through the leather. I don’t think it looks great and I worry it will permanently stretch and dent the bag.
This is the first purse organizer I’ve owned. I’d love advice.

I suspect you’re right. I spent quite a while looking for one “off the shelf” that was made specifically for the bag but couldn’t find one. I may try getting one made… whenever my crazy life slows down.

I carried my Jigsaw (British high street) 'BV-style' brown woven leather, E-W tote today. It was a hand-me-across from my sister about 20 years ago. 20 years ago!!!!
It was pouring and I didn't want to ruin a good bag. Before I took it out I was thinking this would the last time carrying it. It doesn't make the best shopper because it's shallow (I know that's more fashionable) but I managed to get my supplements and some groceries in unzipped (just about).
Now, I'm not so sure, totally in two minds. I have 5 BVs including exotics (one's a tote) and a dark blue Roma (also a tote).
Is it stupid to keep dupes when you have the real thing?

I don't think it is stupid to keep dupes. They are perfect when you might be in a situation where your bag could get splashed or damaged.
I keep dupes. It is actually just the shape of speedy. I have a coach in tan leather that is cute and can be worn anywhere, My speedy is very obvious and I am not comfortable wearing it in certain areas. Then I have my red and blue Tory Burch the leather is stunning and she is actually prettier than my speedy. All have their use and I like them all.

Interestingly, I went into M&S (fashion/food). You have to walk through the 'fashion' to get to the food. They have showcased their offerings of woven totes (but faux-leather) for this season. If M&S are pushing them as this season's 'must have', I'm thinking they must be on-trend again (not that I care, but YKWIM).
It's true, I would never put loose carrots and so on in one of my BVs.
This is a beautiful bag. It sounds like it may not be 100 percent love but take into account the thought he put in it. I made the mistake years ago of returning a gift I didn't love. I'm glad to hear you still love the Tory Burch. I've been unsuccessfully looking for that bag for years after seeing yours.
My husband never buys gifts for me. One time he took me shopping for a bag that I picked out. I wore it for years but fell out of love with it. When I sold it, he was hurt because he felt I was rejecting his gift.
