A little update on jeans: Or maybe I should say a large update since I've gone a bit crazy and bought several pairs! Found some barrel leg jeans I like, and I will be wearing them a fair amount this season.
Also added some wide leg and flare style jeans in cream color and white, as well as dark washes. Jeans shopping is exhausting! I hope the styles don't change for a while, since I don't want to repeat all the endless try-ons! Also added a lot of summer dresses and now I need to stop and just enjoy styling them with my bags and other accessories. Being preoccupied with clothing purchases means I have not paid much attention to bags or the posted challenges so now I have to refocus on rotating my bags!

That’s great that you found so many pairs of jeans which both fitted And suited you!
Jeans shopping IS exhausting!I saw a pair of Armani jeans at the end of the day Monday, but couldn’t face getting changed again..
I’m sure that the summer dresses will serve you well too.❤️

I love following everyone's thought process and progress!

My office outfit for the day consists entirely of items from previous years. From the Cartier trinity ring that was a high school graduation present 30+ years ago, to the mini Puzzle in sand and light pink Adidas Berns from last year. Living in a cooler climate, I don't own a huge amount of summer clothes that are office appropriate. In the end I went for a light pink jersey top from a mid range brand and a linen blend skirt from a mass market brand.

@papertiger How are you feeling now that it's been a few days since your surgery? I hope you're already better!

@Purses & Perfumes I'm really loving the barrel-leg jeans I'm seeing all over the place. So comfy! I'm glad you found some that worked out for you.

@Joeli7 You're right, it's such a pleasure seeing how each person approaches their closets and makes the most of their items. Well done on finding all that you needed from what you already had. Your outfit sounds amazing!

Small update that I think I forgot to post earlier: Mr. Grumpy couldn't be repaired. I tried several places but, nothing's going to get him looking decent. His torn face now matches mine! I'm using him to store important documents in my Go Bag, so I can still enjoy him.

Oh no, I am sorry about Mr. Grumpy!

Thank you for asking. I also have a grumpy face. I have to admit the swelling is still very apparent I am a bit self-conscious, and everything still feels sore. I started taking antibiotics Monday, painkillers from Weds, but the best thing is the ice-pack I am applying every few hours.

I was supposed to take time off work until next Tuesday and just take it easy. Unfortunately, we've some big events coming-up and some of my team seem to be acting like toddlers. I had to organise an emergency meeting Weds evening in-person straight from surgery, and yesterday online. Today being Friday and sunny, they seem to be deliberately not answering calls/emails for follow-ups. I shouldn't take things personally, but you know how it goes, if everything goes well, it's because they are super-duper geniuses, want to take full credit and be thanked personally, but if things go badly it'll be all my fault.

On a good note, my BV Small Roma's lock kept getting stuck, very frustrating and embarrassing. However, a little oil in the mechanism seemed to do the trick and I am very much enjoying using it

This month 2 bags out - as in gone, but, BV Small Roma an in because it was being counted as going out.
Also in, a new hat (embellished mini wool bowler) and DVF printed silk dress.

I'm so sorry your team is being so uncooperative. How frustrating! I know that little bit of sunshine is precious, but that's no excuse!

I hope the swelling and pain subside soon. I've found salt water rinses help a great deal post-dental surgery (iirc, that is what you mentioned earlier on). Just a suggestion, but of course, you know what is and isn't allowed, so try it only if it's safe for you to do so.

Very happy to hear that you fixed the lock on the BV! And congrats on the DVF dress- they really are staples for a reason.

Sending you healing vibes and hoping the weekend is a restful one! You sound like you need that most of all! :hugs:

Did you ever let a significant other effect how you feel about an item?
Oh yes, my husband has excellent taste and I enjoy talking about bags and fashion with him. He often points out things that I didn't think about and gives a different perspective.
There are some things that he says that don't matter to me. Such as his opinion that birkins and kellys are ugly lol.

Love your pink Valentino dress!!!

Inspired by the Labubu thread...
I'm not a labubu person, nor a bag charm person in general, however!!! I get a good dose of whimsy in my actual bags- the Kate Spade Owl, Mr. Grumpy, anything whimsical or novelty. Bags that are furry animal themed always catch my eye. That's where I indulge the big kid inside me!
Which got me thinking, how do you cater to your whimsical side in your personal collections? Is it labubus/hello kitty/ etc., iridescent leathers and hardware, novelty bags, or something else entirely?
:)
I am definitely a labubu girl and have posted quite a few pics on the thread lol. I have one pegasus rodeo, which I only got because the leather color matched the color of one of my bags perfectly. I do twillies on some bags and change them up each season.
Other than that, I don't really show my whimsical side through my bags or outfits, I stay pretty neutral, pretty safe lol.

I do have a nice collection of pug stuffed animals in my car. It's become a habit of mine to collect them and display them on the dashboard. They are taken off while driving of course. My car is very identifiable at work now. I'm known as the pug mommy. Now all bday and holiday gifts are pug-themed and I love it!

In curating my collection, I sent a handful of items to TRR at the beginning of this month and I was pretty surprised to see that they were all sold within a week of being posted.
That has never happened to me before. In the past, it would take 1-8 months for an item to sell.
Granted: 1) TRR listed them a lower price than they would have listed 3-4 years ago. 2) It's probably a sign of our economic times. People are not willing to pay the current prices, and I don't blame them with all the price increases since the pandemic.

Though I'm not sure how TRR and other resale/pre-loved sites are doing with their current stock. I know it's not a great time to sell now (though a great time to buy pre-loved of course). So I wonder if their inventory is lower than usual and people are swooping in and grabbing things that they find to be a good deal.

And tbh, what I sold on TRR wasn't the best things I've sold either, IMO. A YSL logo belt that I stopped reaching for over a year ago. A pretty beat up pair of CL. A pair of Brunello wedge heels that I was never able to break in. The material of the straps are just too hard and stiff. And 3 pieces of non-luxury, but I guess nice clothes (think Sandro, Maje). The only nice one was a pair of Chanel sunnies, with case and box.

I think more people are buying pre-loved altogether, hooray for that!

That is sad but good that you found another use for him. My Cayman bag is in terrible shape after wearing one time. I took it out of my collection. I will use it to store something. It must be dry rot or something. I would toss it but my brother was here and I felt so bad. He was very upset about it and also angry at the place he bought it from. So I will store something in it .
