I’ve just received a lovely email back from Gaziano and Girling(shoemakers).
I used to only wear dress shoes-bespoke as I have tiny feet, and prefer men’s styles.
Firstly John Lobb of St James bootees in black calf, then navy Madeira calf, then I changed to Gaziano and Girling, where I was the first lady client(in 2008/9).
Dean Girling initially told me that he “didn’t make stilettoes”- I told him that wasn’t what I wanted!
I’ve had brogues in black calf, black calf boots, navy calf shoes(which is all I have left as I’ve walked through the others).
I received an email to say they’d been granted a Royal Warrant to His Majesty the King, and wrote to Tony Gaziano and Dean immediately.
They replied straightaway, thanking me for my loyal patronage, and looking forward to seeing me again soon.
It’s nice that success hasn’t gone to their heads, and that they remember their original client base!
JUNE “SHOPPING YOUR CLOSET” CHALLENGES
- Dressing Diversity: Wear bags that differ along a spectrum of style such as four different colors, four different shapes, four different brands, etc.
- Forgotten Favorites: Wear one of your least used bags at least twice this month
- Locked Line Up: Enjoy a month of no ins. Refrain from buying any bags or SLG’s.
- Negate the Neutrals: Help your bag rotation and ability to restyle your bags by focusing your wear on lesser used colors. Resolve not to wear bags in one of your staple colors such as black, brown or taupe for one month.
No black bags-yes, no black clothes -NO!Already done four different shapes with my Chloe Paddy, H Evie, Liberty laptop case and Emmy cross-body
I can say my Paddy has been a least used bag - so that's one down and another outing to go
I think I can do no 'ins'. Nothing for sale that I know of is as nice as I have already.
LOL, I've already broken the no black rule every day this month.
I feel the same!Nothing for sale that I know of is as nice as I have already.
I’ve just googled Renato Angi(I don’t know whether or not you have done yet)- he’s a Venetian designer of clothing, jewellery, shoes, accessories etc.Strange coincidence:
I just noticed the shoes I was given for free (they needed a bit of glue) at the fleemarket last month came in an Angi dustbag- a brand I never heard of before and last week bought a handbag by.

I wonder if it’s the uncertainty in the world right now that is causing some of us to seek out clothes that seem more sturdy and safe. My nail tech said women aren’t choosing bright colors, patterned nails or more non traditional shapes like long stiletto. The trend is for pale neutrals in soft almond and round shapes.I seen to be gravitating towards dark colours this Summer.
Sunday I met fashionable friends in town and they were wearing dark grey and black too.
I took my Paddington. I have at last found the best use for the front pocket besides a ticket - tin of lip balm

Despite the sunny Spring, I am having a hard time getting into Summer. Anyone else having the same issue?
I need a good beater bags as I somehow no longer have one.I am going to a paint out today and the first thing I thought of was to bring a lululemon black bag. I will dig something different out that but that has color but is inexpensive since the possibility of getting paint on it is high.
I’m glad you enjoyed yourself despite your sister’s behavior. You look great too!
My most recent picture(unfortunately my miserable sister took pictures of my Dad last Wednesday enjoying himself, but none of me with him, and no family pics) is a very bad selfie of me getting ready last week, in Alexander McQueen blazer, navy satin Reiss camisole and Joseph black gabardine leggings.
I carried my navy crocodile Raylowi bag(not pictured).
Yes. The art of entertaining is going by the wayside and it makes me quite sad.It reminded me of how many of my friends have given-up having any pretence of formality when entertaining lately (since the Pandemic). Do you find the same where you are?
As an artist some beater bags are necessary . I actually like them and have fun with them.I wonder if it’s the uncertainty in the world right now that is causing some of us to seek out clothes that seem more sturdy and safe. So glad you had a good time. I brought some gold stuff to a jeweler a while ago and was surprised how much they gave for it.Pouring today, I took my Small, metallic Silver Cambridge Satchel, it already has a lot of lots of patina. Carrying umbrella and sunnies.
I took some gold and silver to the jeweller for scrap. The was all over 18K so not a bad haul. Our the money straight in the bank, I'm sure my dentistry will make it disappear soon enough.
Had a lovely evening on Thursday with a very sweet, young friend who is about to launch her homeware brand. She was so thoughtful making me feel at home in her apartment. She made sure all the food perfectly with the (Italian Rosé) from Italian sparkling water, wrapped melon, king pawns to Cannoli. I felt like the Queen arriving. It reminded me of how many of my friends have given-up having any pretence of formality when entertaining lately (since the Pandemic). Do you find the same where you are?
Beautiful scenery! This morning, with my trust Gucci Aphrodite to watch a local half marathon, by the river and back home through the nature reserve
