long time purchaser here. Your best bet is not to view these as investments. Most items you end up with a loss. Sure occasionally prices increase (you’d have to sell yourself and most likely not thru Fashionphile, etc). Overwhelmingly items purchased retail don’t necessarily increase in value. That’s my 2 cents for what it’s worth.
Understood, thank you very much. I have heard that the Murakami trunks (the trunk pyramid and the huge trunk that can be used as a coffee table) are solid investable pieces. Is this true? They seem to be rare enough and in such demand. Seems like the trunks released in the first collab back in 2003 are worth a ton now.

Worth a ton or the ask price is a ton? :D I also sometimes see items for crazy prices on resell platforms from special collections like catogram or camouflage. But asking a ton for a trunk doesn’t mean it’s also worth a ton, I can’t imagine anyone would buy a trunk for that much money.

question for the north americans.

is the canadian stock and the american stock of product separate or the same? like, is there an allocated stock for canadians and an allocated stock for americans? or do orders go through the same stock pool?
US/CA are usually pooled together for the pieces they release from these capsule collections, but allocations are different. From my experience on some rarer pieces, its was separate allocation for each region. Also, you can see on site, some pieces maybe sold out in US but will be available in CA, and vice versa.

Canada just gets much lower quantities, most MC and panda bags, slgs and accessories are sold out now.
I'm not sure if they're going to hold allocation for general release, but it's looking like it'll likely be very limited availability on Jan 1.

is this in the states? what was available at this point?

Yes, in the US.

And here’s the kicker… I’m only at $24k spend for the year so I can’t order now after all, and his manager won’t approve it for the one item. So I’ll be participating in the insanity on Jan 1 if I want something. I feel so rejected :blah:

Here’s what he said was available…

have you been able to preorder yet?

wow that's actually just disrespectful at this point. especially if you were invited to purchase and they're not approving it because of how little the spend is?

If it’s true that this is a very limited collection, I’m going to be annoyed. It’s also not fair that some clients’ orders went through so early and some were cancelled. I’ve managed to buy all the pieces I’ve wanted these years that I’ve bought from LV and I have liked it. I don’t like if some collections are only meant for certain clients. I do understand if some exotic pieces are rare etc. but I don’t understand if this collection is rare. It doesn’t make any sense either from the financial perspective. I’ve already started to think that maybe I won’t get anything from the cerises collection and it doesn’t make me want to buy anything else from LV either. I know, these are only bags, but still I’m a little annoyed. 😅

Damn that’s just so crazy and annoying. Like you are bringing back a legend that changed the game. This should be a fun collection that puts LV out there again, not just a collection for the exclusive. For the first time in a long time, I was actually excited about an LV drop. Hope we can all get what we want somehow!

Yeah, I’m a little put off at the moment. I know in the LV world $24k is nothing but I think I’m close enough to get a manager approval. Or not. I might not matter enough as a customer to this store. Or what I want to order isn’t enough? My original list had 6 items in it and none were available, so… :shrugs:

I’m going to try a different SA that I’ve worked with before to see if I have better luck.
