• What is your most useful purse?
• What is your best purchase of the year?
• We’ve all had a lot of lifestyle changes this year - how has it affected your style?
• What is the one thing we’ve learned this year that you want to take into the next?

II. Setting 2025 Goals
Take this month to consider what you want to do with your handbag collection, wardrobe or even your beautiful life in 2025. Share these thoughts in January when we start the 2026 Shopping Your Closet thread.

III. End of year optional challenges

• Holiday colors: December has many holidays celebrated across the world - red & green, brown & gold, blue & white and more! Pick the holiday that you want to honor and wear / show off your bags in those traditional colors.

• End with a bang: As we come to the last part of the year, wear the last bag you’ve purchased at least 3 times this month.

Sooooo… being “out of it” for so long with health issues has meant I’m behind in some of the little but important-to-me things I like to do. One of those is keeping my bags cleaned, conditioned, organized and displayed so that I’m happy when I see them all together.

I spent the day reloading my entire closet to edit out what isn’t working. With that I had to reset and adjust every single shelf in my bag tower. I’m happy with what I could fit -
but now with my purchases, I can’t fit 3 bags that can / should “sit” on the shelves (you can see them languishing on the top shelf second pic). My 2 new Prada monochrome top handle bags take up a lot of vertical space.

I’m also not happy with my hanging bag section as I can barely differentiate what is what. Even the new Gucci multi colored python is getting lost.

Suggestions? I’d love to see how everyone else displays / stores their bags. @dcooney4 - you are really good about holding your collection to a certain amount of space so feel free to tutor me! View attachment 6080618View attachment 6080619

And yes. Those of you with keen perception can see I’m photographing everything BUT the 9 bags I need to sell.

Procrastination thy name is Sparkletastic.
This looks so nice!

For the first time ever my " good" bags and my cowgirls boots are in a proper display cabinet.Well, standard Ikea PAX, because I needed something quick I was able to set up on my own. Behind glass doors on which I put UV protection foil, because the room has a south facing window.

The cabinets are already very full. When I bought them I actually believed there would be much more space...

Most vintage bags live in the living room cabinets behind closed doors and a few others sit in open shelves in the bedroom.

I won't be able to post much. I hurt my right wrist and I am a righty. Sparkletastic you are on a roll. Good luck with the sales.
I'm sorry. I hope it gets better soon. When I got frozen shoulder, I learned to use the mouse with my left hand. Now whenever my right arm hurts, I can switch over to using it on the left without problems.

Self care is probably the most “productive” time you can spend. But, I’m so sorry about your FIL. Wishing you and your family peace and harmony during this difficult time.

Oh no! I hope you recover quickly and easily.

Yay for sisters in creeping with deliberation thru our organization. :ghi5:

The yellow bag is my biggest “score.” A like new yellow lamb Miss Dior sliding chain that I purchased pre loved 6 years ago for only $600 from a seller who was aggressively downsizing. I have 4 of these now in yellow, watermelon pink, cobalt blue, and dark metallic marine blue. I am trying desperately to shriek at myself that I don’t also need green, red, beige-y pink or black when they come up for sale (two of these colors are listed now :whut:.) I love these bags: they’re super functional and look good on my frame. But, I’m a bit “off” of chain strap quilted bags right now. View attachment 6080886
The yellow Miss Dior... I love it! Is the long sliding chain very heavy?
I have a grey Miss Dior, but only with the shoulder chain and this is almost unpleasantly heavy. I'm struggling with the capacity of my rather big bag, too. Being rigid as it is, it takes a lot less than the soft New Lock bags.

Wow, I love how you display your bags! While it’s probably not so helpful to you since I keep mine in their dust bags (with the exception of whatever work tote I’m currently using and two grab-and-go bags that I rotate a couple of times per season to encourage more wear), I’ll include some closet photos in case they’re helpful. Earlier this year I swapped out three jewelry trays just under the shelf where my work bag sits with two more drawers to accommodate my growing SLG collection. I’ve been consolidating/downsizing/curating my jewelry collection, giving away or selling a lot of my fashion jewelry and putting what’s left in one place so I can better see what I have. I finally got around to selling many of the items from my mom that I wasn’t keeping and I was pleased with the place I used (so much better than the last place). Of course I took the proceeds right to VCA and bought myself a pendant, but… At least I don’t have things I know I don’t want still sitting around.

Questions of the day:

Within your collection…

• What specific model of bag do you find most practical and happy to use?
• What specific model of bag do you just love to own?
• Do these categories match? Why or why not?

For me, I looooove wearing my Prada double zip totes. The bags’ organization is perfection with a zippered section front and back and then an open middle section with a slip pocket and another zip pocket. Also they can be worn in hand or crook of arm with the attached handles OR shoulder or crossbody with the detachable strap. Plus the saffiano leather is completely carefree without looking or feeling plastic-y. I fully intend to buy more as they’re very reasonably priced resale. I don’t care that they get some negative feedback because I’ve never had a quality issue. I foolishly sold 2 others I owned when I was trying idiotically to keep my collection at a certain size for literally no good reason. :facepalm:View attachment 6078569

I looove owning and wearing my Dior Dioramas. They’re “jewelry pieces in my handbag collection that still provide great function due to the medium size, light weight and ease of access.

(Interestingly, for love to carry - I give an honorable mention to my medium and mini Chanel classic flaps. As much as the jumbos get little love from me, I really enjoy carrying the smaller sizes even though I’m not a tiny bag person. )

Pics for eye candy. Please show your bags too!
Most practical and lovely to use? For me it's definetely the Dior New Lock, both the medium and the larger size. They hold a lot and comfy to wear short shoulder or simply in the crook of my arm.
A bag I simply love to own is for example the leopard Dior Diva or the Dior Gambler.
Both have potential to be practical. The Diva - as soon as there is an organizer insert- holds a lot and nicely dangles from the arm. Same about the Gambler. It's actually a big bag. BUT... they are so pretty and I always fear to ruin them or in case of the Gambler lose the dice.

We lost our dog two weeks ago. While I haven't done too much shopping, I have been numbing myself with social media. I don't have the energy to even envision my future right now. I relate to you both - I hope things are better now. I miss him so much it hurts.

In the meanwhile, I decided to swap out my Coach 2007 signature soho flap for a 2005 soho pocket flap as I needed a change. It was an excellent purchase. I've thought about the Soho Pocket Flap for quite sometime. I'd love to find one in red.
I'm sorry about your dog. 💔

I love your SLG organization. It’s similar to mine for my jewelry. I have drawers on one wall and three of them are a bit shallower than the rest. In each of those, I have 3 layers of stacked trays that have different sized compartments to hold items. Behind the trays in one drawer is just enough room for a row of bangle bracelets.
Here's the printed Burberry's suit. Really not spectacular... I simply needed a way to cover Up all the places I darned. There was a lot of moth damage. DS calls this suit "grandma got run over by a mobility scooter when leaving the bingo parlour."

You took the words right out of my mouth!
I am LIVING for how you painted these! I’m so inspired right now and neeeeeeed to do this on something.
This looks great! If you want to minimize the height taken up by the Prada top handles, perhaps store them on the same shelf?

@cowgirlsboots , love the latest suit. IMO it looks very comme des garçons meets dior
You’re right. I thought about that. But then I’d mess up the color groupings.

That’s a great bag!

The chain on the Miss Dior sliding chain bags are very light- just heavy enough to feel like great quality but the lightest of all my chain straps.

I’m going to just accept that the newly expanded size of / models in my collection don’t allow for some of my bags to fit in my purse tower anymore. I’d mentioned at the beginning of the year that I needed more variety and I was leaving ban island to make some purchases.

Well… I just checked my records and somehow I have purchased 13 bags this year. THIRTEEN!!!! That’s an increase in my collection from 28 to 36 bags. (the difference being some outs). I’ve bought more bags this year than I have in the past decade. :whut:

Each added bag is much loved (seriously, I really love these new bags and am enjoying the flexibility they’re giving.)

BUT, I’m now buying ban island and evicting every one else. Sorry folks but needs must when the devil drives. LOL! I’m erecting a super max, solitary confinement prison facility in which I and my bags will be harshly watched and supervised 24 hours a day. :police: I even told Mr. Sparkle - no handbag gifts. The “enabler” said he’d already bought one and hidden it away for my birthday. I told him it better fit this new color / shelving configuration or I’m gutting the kitchen and making it a purse closet! He said it will so now I am REALLY puzzled on what it could be. I don’t see room for anything especially since the three I’m trying to fit in are in my blazer / jacket section of my closet. With fall coming I’ll be pulling those out of storage and it will be full. Hmmmmm…

I use a brushed stainless steel tumbler for mine. Funny enough, I bought it at Harrods on a trip to London about 20 years ago! It has a decent weight, but isn’t heavy, and it’s the perfect height for makeup brushes, plus it’s washable since it’s a tumbler. The company is Zack (German). I no longer have many makeup brushes since I don’t wear a lot of makeup anymore and most of what I kept is travel-sized, but I do have a kabuki brush, so I took a photo with my brushes to show you. Also including a photo of the bottom in case you’re interested in checking it out. Did a quick Google search and the below link might be to the current model (dimensions are about right!).
