2023 Resolution: Shopping my Own Bags and SLG Collection

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

A long standing tradition in this thread is to remind ourselves of how wonderful our own collections are by showcasing them. We can see how far we have come, collection wise, and we reminded that we have all (or most of) what we need making it easier to shop our own closets.

• New theme weeks start each Sunday

• Don’t jump ahead but, if you miss a week, please do show your bags “late”.

• Show bags individually or in a group

• You do NOT have to wear the bags that week

• For added fun, show old pictures from previous years to demonstrate how you have curated it over time.

• This is completely voluntary. There is no pressure to post at any time.

So what are the showcases? In the Fall, we group our bags by makers! Feel free to show bags, small leather goods, or however it is easiest to organize!

Just realized I never posted Tory Burch. I used to be really into this brand 10-15 years ago and had fond of stuff, I got rid of alot and don't really use any if it but these are 2 of the nicer/newer bags I got. Have never used the arctic color woven bag but thought it was too pretty to pass up and used the savannah colored hobo once or twice but carried with the logo facing me so it wasn't visible.

ETA: Dug up some old beat up TB bags I never got around to getting rid of. The straw/white one got alot of use back in the day with the matching wedges so please don't mind that they're filthy, I probably haven't used in 10 years. I do have tons of TB sandals and slides (embarrassing to admit how many) but I will share these boots. I thought the navy ponyhair with the dragonfly along heel were to die for but unfortunately never wear bc one fits ok the other very uncomfortable and I was told they are uneven bc they are handmade 🙄
Ooh, love those dragonflies! So sad you can't wear them.

The boots are stunning! Shame they don't fit well!

Thanks! I agree it's a shame. I love dragonflies... I treated myself to a diamond dragonfly ring when I got divorced many years ago and purchased a brass dragonfly doorbell when I was planning to build a house on Maui. Ended up moving back to the mainland 17 years ago but still have the dragonfly doorbell in a box in a drawer. I would love to use it at my current house but I installed the Ring doorbell 6 years ago so not really feasible. Haven't tried the boots on in years maybe I should give them a whirl but suspect nothing has changed

ETA: Found a photo of the dragonfly doorbell online (brand Michael Healy and has an entire line of these doorbells and door knockers). You can see why the boots reminded me of it!

The boots are so cool. I like tory a lot too, but rarely wear mine either. I need to figure out more outfits for them.

Can you get the one that hurts stretched at the cobbler.

Thank you for the well wishes. Re the quoted, I do hope that this is because most people are only getting mild symptoms now. I have had it rough each time but, my immunity is terribly compromised, so that's to be expected. I would be relieved to learn that others are just getting mild cold-like symptoms and these new strains are not creating the chaos the Alpha strain did.

On a lighter note, I've been trying to upload a pic of my cat with his teddy for you but the forum isn't cooperating. I'll tag you on the post when I manage to get it to upload.
I do believe that’s the case (milder symptoms), at least from what I’ve heard. I’ve never personally tested positive, but am confident I’ve had COVID at least a couple of times. Only one instance was more debilitating; the rest were more of an annoyance. The U.S. introduced a new vaccine to combat the current strains and I got that one in mid-November. Fingers crossed! But I can imagine that even with vaccines, a compromised immune system just makes it terrible all around. I hope you’re feeling better! And I look forward to photos of your cat with his teddy why the site cooperates!

Had some time this weekend (finally!) to take the rest of the photos I promised (and one I didn’t, but thought would be fun to include).

@jblended, here’s the Laduree holiday charm. I tried for a mod shot, but couldn’t get one I liked, so I used my dresser instead.

@jbags07, here are shots of my Rockstud bracelets. I thought about putting them all on my arm at one time, but didn’t like the white Rockstuds mingling with the metal ones, and didn’t love the metallic leathers mingling with the flat, so three photos. The purple leather one is my most recent, bought earlier this year at one of the Vegas boutiques.

@dcooney4, these are the latest additions to our stuffed animal collection. The lion is mine (reminds me of the bear in my avatar, which I stole from DD many moons ago) and the lamb is DD’s (her favorite animal).

oh those boots with the dragonfly are amazing!
I (like @dcooney4) suggest taking them to a cobbler - they should be able to stretch the leather where it's uncomfortable.

so. cute!!

Taking a moment to rant because I cannot believe it! I've got covid again!:mad::mad:

I get it, I'm in the hospital weekly, I'm bound to pick up everything going, but for crying out loud! How many times am I going to deal with this? It's also annoying because the rest of the world has seemingly moved on from it but, here I am, curled up in the corner being pounded by this freaking virus over and over again. :blah:

Also, just really ashamed in general because, of course, I've infected my mum  and have to try not to let the guilt drive me crazy.

Oh no! Hope you and your mom get better soon! Don't feel bad, it happens.

I gave my parents COVID in the weirdest way.
We adopted our 2nd pug Dec 2022. We had to drive a couple hours to a really sketchy area to pick her up. (I had to take off all my jewelry, etc.)
We picked her up and I stayed very close to our new pug (Kiki) for the next couple days because she was nervous and scared. I wanted to be there for her and support her. Our other pug was chaperoned by my husband because he was getting jealous and I wanted to give Kiki some space to get comfortable. I scheduled a health check up with our vet at the end of the week just to make sure she was all good.
And then, bam, suddenly I got COVID. I told my husband to basically go live in the guest bedroom. I called my parents to ask them to come pick up Kiki and drop her off at the vet for her check up. My husband wore a mask and was 6 feet away when he handed Kiki over to my parents.
1-2 days later, my parents tested positive for COVID.
I was so bewildered. My husband had gotten COVID the month before and I was negative and we quarantined and everything, I never got COVID from him. We were very good after that to be very careful around the holidays.
So, I looked it up on the CDC, and found out that dogs can transmit COVID (but not get it themselves.)
So, basically I got COVID from a dog and gave COVID to my parents via a dog........😑

Btw, there's a dog respiratory disease floating around! Keep your doggies safe! Stay away from crowded dog parks, dog daycares, and dog hotels if you can!
