2023 Resolution: Shopping my Own Bags and SLG Collection

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

A long standing tradition in this thread is to remind ourselves of how wonderful our own collections are by showcasing them. We can see how far we have come, collection wise, and we reminded that we have all (or most of) what we need making it easier to shop our own closets.

• New theme weeks start each Sunday

• Don’t jump ahead but, if you miss a week, please do show your bags “late”.

• Show bags individually or in a group

• You do NOT have to wear the bags that week

• For added fun, show old pictures from previous years to demonstrate how you have curated it over time.

• This is completely voluntary. There is no pressure to post at any time.

So what are the showcases? In the Fall, we group our bags by makers! Feel free to show bags, small leather goods, or however it is easiest to organize!

August 13 - Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta

August 20 - Burberry, Celine

August 27 - Coach, Chanel

Taking a moment to rant because I cannot believe it! I've got covid again!:mad::mad:

I get it, I'm in the hospital weekly, I'm bound to pick up everything going, but for crying out loud! How many times am I going to deal with this? It's also annoying because the rest of the world has seemingly moved on from it but, here I am, curled up in the corner being pounded by this freaking virus over and over again. :blah:

Also, just really ashamed in general because, of course, I've infected my mum  and have to try not to let the guilt drive me crazy.
Oh, no! I wish you (and your mom) a speedy recovery. And as mentioned, COVID is definitely making the rounds again. I think the world has moved on from it, yes, mostly treating it akin to a cold, or the flu; more of an annoyance than anything. At least that’s the vibe I’m getting from my corner of the world…

I’ve just got back from a Christmas lunch with a good friend …
I gave her a card, chocolates and handbag from my collection gift wrapped in a large box, so one bag out this month..it was a bit of a last minute decision..I hope I don’t regret it..

So I’ve just created a vacancy for a new bag in 2024..I’ll spend December researching a new bag although I have a wishlist already, hopefully I won’t gift and more at the spur of the moment..
I love this. I just sent one to a friend. She was searching for it and couldn’t find it . I added an ornament with a portrait of her pet on it and a little journal. Can’t wait till she receives it.

Thank you for the well wishes. Re the quoted, I do hope that this is because most people are only getting mild symptoms now. I have had it rough each time but, my immunity is terribly compromised, so that's to be expected. I would be relieved to learn that others are just getting mild cold-like symptoms and these new strains are not creating the chaos the Alpha strain did.

On a lighter note, I've been trying to upload a pic of my cat with his teddy for you but the forum isn't cooperating. I'll tag you on the post when I manage to get it to upload. :)

Okay, that must be one of the most thoughtful things I've ever heard of someone doing! I would be so touched if a friend took the time to paint a portrait of my furballs! You're such a good friend!

The same friend I gifted the bag to today lost 2 golden retrievers within 6 months the year before last..not as good as a portrait, but I gifted her an ornament of 2 golden retrievers as her dogs were 14 and 12(mother and son), so she had been devastated…

It's so hard when we lose our furballs. It was very considerate of you to include something to show her that you remember her pups! :hugs:

Thank you! I was so excited for her to get it. It got lost for a few days and wasn’t tracking and it made me nervous, but today it finally got there. She was over the moon.

I'm so sorry to hear you you have Covid again. I'll be praying you and your mom heal quickly. :console:

Your boots sound amazing, please do snap more pix when u have time, would love to see 🥰
finally got around to taking pics for you...the suede booties have the studs on the bottom which I thought was cool and I loved the color of these light blue boots and managed to find a leather jacket that's a very close match. They have the smaller studs along the back in a very light gold (almost looks silver so can match with either). I think they were called love studs instead of rock studs.

Playing catch up again. Here are my bags by "jewelers" from last week.....
Recently purchased Bvlgari tophandle and Tiffany Baguette.

I do not have any independent artisans or custom bags for this week but if I remember correctly, awhile back someone mentioned sharing bags by designers who don't fit one of the other weeks' themes with "independent ". I have several Jimmy Choo, a Dolce & Gabbana, an Alexander McQueen and 2 Versace if anyone would like me to share photos of them.

Just realized I never posted Tory Burch. I used to be really into this brand 10-15 years ago and had fond of stuff, I got rid of alot and don't really use any if it but these are 2 of the nicer/newer bags I got. Have never used the arctic color woven bag but thought it was too pretty to pass up and used the savannah colored hobo once or twice but carried with the logo facing me so it wasn't visible.

ETA: Dug up some old beat up TB bags I never got around to getting rid of. The straw/white one got alot of use back in the day with the matching wedges so please don't mind that they're filthy, I probably haven't used in 10 years. I do have tons of TB sandals and slides (embarrassing to admit how many) but I will share these boots. I thought the navy ponyhair with the dragonfly along heel were to die for but unfortunately never wear bc one fits ok the other very uncomfortable and I was told they are uneven bc they are handmade 🙄

Thank you both so much. I'm just a bit grumpy because I'm ill. Hopefully this will be over before we know it and I'll stop being a sourpuss. :flowers:

Thank you so much! It's oddly reassuring to hear that it's not just me. There's almost no talk about it anymore and I felt I was going mad when they swabbed me and told me it's positive. I'm taking every precaution I can (including masking all the time) but nobody else is, so it's frustrating that I'm the one who keeps catching every single strain.
It's making the rounds here too, especially at school, but no panic about it anymore.

I had aching bones and bad headaches for a few days last week. I didn't test, it went away again. I don't go anywhere anyway. The guy sitting next to DS at school had it the week before....
