2023 Resolution: Shopping my Own Bags and SLG Collection

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate

A long standing tradition in this thread is to remind ourselves of how wonderful our own collections are by showcasing them. We can see how far we have come, collection wise, and we reminded that we have all (or most of) what we need making it easier to shop our own closets.

• New theme weeks start each Sunday

• Don’t jump ahead but, if you miss a week, please do show your bags “late”.

• Show bags individually or in a group

• You do NOT have to wear the bags that week

• For added fun, show old pictures from previous years to demonstrate how you have curated it over time.

• This is completely voluntary. There is no pressure to post at any time.

So what are the showcases? In the Fall, we group our bags by makers! Feel free to show bags, small leather goods, or however it is easiest to organize!

As for repurposing, while it’s not a bag, per se, I use my Louis Vuitton Nice cases (I have two sizes) to store all of my bag charms. They sit on a closet shelf with some of my other LV, so not sure if that counts?
It definitely counts. Good idea to store your bag charms in there. I love the Nice case! I've always wanted one for travelling. Do you use them for travel?

As for dry skin, it seems like as soon as the heating is turned on, the skin starts to get dry. Have you considered a humidifier in your bedroom? I don't have one, and I have no idea if it helps with dry skin, but I have heard it's helpful with dry sinus issues and allergies, so it might be worth trying.
Very nice collection of Tory Burch! I particularly love the green bag and the satchel.

Just popping in to say hi! Sorry, I have so much to catch-up on.

DH will have chemo but not abroad, then major surgery after - and then more rounds of chemo. SIL is coming over next week to help. All in this course of treatment will be exactly 8 months. Strangely (or maybe not strange) DH was understandably in-shock and depressed when first diagnosed then undergoing so many tests in the UK and abroad (it's quite a rare cancer). He's fairly young and super-fit so there is some hope. There will be no Scotland for Christmas/Hogmanay this year, no family/neighbourly gatherings so we're having a big party before the chemo starts next week

I've been using my bags, shopping from my closet for work beyond the usual H work bags, including Gucci Aphrodite, Gucci Punch, H shoppers, YSL Marjorelle and 3 BVs. No major outgoing items but plenty to sort through.

I've fished-out my Bracher Emden clutch for DH's party (see above) as it's suitably Y2K-ish. A neighbour/friend and her two children are getting Baptised - no idea what is suitable (let me know if you know - I've been to baby christenings at CoE church and catholic confirmations, but never adult baptisms).

I've paused searching for the BV lizard Knot I was after, shopping's kind of taken a back seat. I will get one one day.

Just found my velvet remnants!
They aren't rolled but neatly folded into the matching lining remnants and were stored with my lining fabrics!
Yippie 🎉

I really don't need them right now, but will as soon as DS grows and decides to still want his velvet suit.

Now I stored them with said suit in its clothes bag. Please remind me in case I forget and panic again....

Prayers for your hubby that he beats it. I hope you are holding up. Good idea to have a party now.

The good thing about posting online is you can search on the forum if you forget!

I don’t use the Nice cases for travel, but I do have all three sizes of the LV toiletry cases and both sizes of the cosmetics cases and I use those for travel. They’re great for organizing everything from jewelry to tech to medicines. My carryon bag is usually filled with several different pouches, all of which I keep in their dust bags in my larger bag. I love the Nice and would highly recommend if it’s on your wish list.

Agreed that the skin starts to turn dry the minute the heat goes on! We’ve long had a humidifier in our bedroom, as it’s not only good for the skin, but it’s also good for wood furniture since that, too, is subject to damage during drier weather. It definitely helps my skin, but not enough when it’s extremely dry. For sinus and allergy issues, I swear by saline nasal spray year-round. It’s safe to use as many times a day as needed and, for me, has cut down significantly on the number of sinus infections I get.

Thanks for the update and I’m so sorry you and your DH are having to go through this. My thoughts are with you. In the meantime, I hope your party is a blast and that it takes your minds off everything, at least for a little while.

Has anybody been sucked into the Black Friday bargains?
So far I´ve been good and not bought anything. Impatient as I am I had done my online Christmas shopping earlier. Now I was nervous this might have been a mistake, but everything I had already bought did not go down in price for Black Friday (the one item that did go down by 20€ only did so from a marketplace seller on amazon, not as "sold by amazon" - this option went up by 10€- which I really wanted in case I might need their easy warranty in the future.

To avoid looking into lots of items just because they are in the sale I turned the computer off and went to the sewing table. I made a bag organizer- I hate making them! They never turn out as neat as they should. At least the size is perfect and made from fabric remnants it only cost me 2€ for the 2 felt table mats I needed to make it.
