Do you know what’s the price in local currency compare to last year so we can use it as a baseline? If we go by the converted rate from JPY to USD it'll be so skewed. Usually when the pendant is made in WG it’ll only cost $100-$200 more, not a whooping $500.
WG is generally between 6 and 7% more than YG or RG.
Plus on the HP you get the gold back…
So $4050 last year would put us at $3790 this year for porcelain YG or RG.
So if it’s cheaper, it’s definitely a more common cheaper stone (than Porcelain- more expensive) such as chalcedony, MOP, ect.
Jade would probably be more expensive than these too.
Chalcedony in WG is $3350, so regular pendant in YG or RG would be $3150. Add $400 for the diamond and gold back and you are at $3600!
I heard someone I believe saying it was an extra $400 for the HP…
Just my perspective.

I'm not sure...as someone has mentioned, perhaps they underpriced the 2020 HP which is solid WG at $3800 USD, then the following year I got the rhodonite at around $3700 USD. I'm just skeptical that HP would only cost around $3600 USD in this day with inflation and after multiple price increases. Though it would be lovely if it's indeed priced around $3600 and not $4000, it's still much more helpful if we know that local price of that person whose SA suggested the HP this year is priced at $3600 USD after conversion, because we all know how the currencies are all over the place in the last few years in the Asian countries, particular in Japan. There could be a $400 difference between regular pendant and HP because of the extra gold back and speckle of diamond, but usually between HP's made in gemstones vs solid gold is around $200 difference depend on the metals - like you said, the 6-7% markup for WG.

Anyway, I'm having a strong feeling that it'll be in RG this year. Like last year they launched the WG guilloche collection and the HP was also in WG. This year they relaunched the RG/carnelian collection so the HP can also follow the same pattern. All speculation of course.

this year is TWD 114,000, last year was 121,000 but I also think it's because USD has been strong against most currencies this year so when converted into USD, it seems lower

Perfect! Thanks for the input. Without factoring the conversion rate to USD and just looking at the retail price in TWD alone, it does seem like it won't be in WG then considering it's priced lower than last year's HP. Guess we'll find out the combination in any day now since clients are already given the retail price for preorder/deposit :amuse:

I’m stumped. 2020 was $3850 so if it’s $3600 with prices increasing… maybe RG guilloche? I’m betting on chalcedony still.
My first guess was probably rose gold guilloche because 1) they’ve never done this for a HP yet, 2) they did release newer pieces with rose gold guilloche design (reversible ring with rose gold & carnelian). But now hearing the price makes me think it might be a stone. If it is chalcedony, do you think they’ll release the HP in white gold twice in a row though? Because VCA only does chalcedony in white gold.

Chalcedony can be multiple colors/shades including dark blue and lavender. Maybe it's one of those with RG or YG but I think they look better with WG. I doubt they'd do WG again but maybe.
