It looks like yellow and grey are still the 'colors' of the year.
Added to that for fall are 3 shades of blue, fuchsia and light pink,
a midtone green and olive, an orangey red and a wine shade,
some brown shades and some tan and cream shades.
Black and white seem to be missing as major colors, but are often shown
to balance some of the brighter shades.... as a black handbag with a bright
citron yellow outfit. Dark grey is also often used that way, from what I saw
in some fashion videos. Although both lighter and darker greys are major
fashion shades as well.
I didn't see much purple, but there was some lavender in some collections.
I also saw a lot of pairing of bright colors.. orangey red with fuchsia, etc.
And I noticed that each designer had their own take on the shades of a color....
so the orangey red of the 'official' Pantone color palette might be
interpreted as a brick red by some designers, for example, and the midtone green could be a kelly
green or a grass green or a leaf green. The blues included teal in some collections.
I love to pair shades of blue and green together. And I'm delighted that my new Dooney
Flo Fuchsia handbags is now officially fall worthy in color! And on the subject of handbags,
most of the models in the shows were carrying mid size to larger handbags. I saw on one
tiny bag. (Admittedly I only saw a small bit of the high fashion world).
It's all for fun and we should wear what ever makes us happy. But seeing what's
'in' helps us understand what colors we might expect to see offered. And more
importantly helps me shop my closet to create some fashion worthy pairings...
fashion worthy in my own mind .... but all part of the fun of handbags and colors.
What color handbags are you looking forward to carrying this fall?
