This was my HG brooch. I spotted it too late and it was sold out online, at the boutique, and at authorized retailers. Couldn’t even find it preloved.

I got it for half off the original price, in which I’m thrilled. DBF thinks it’s a bit overpriced but since it’s so me, he relented. It’s part of my Christmas gifts, but I insisted to wear it to my friend’s wedding so there’s no point in wrapping it. [emoji23]

I’ll wear it to work next week on my new-to-me Chanel jacket.

So I finally have something that’s a giant B! It’s been something I’ve wanted for years, but never found the right one.

The funny thing was I didn’t want to go to the Balenciaga boutique, but went out of boredom because they were debating on shoes. [emoji85] I almost stepped out the shop until I spotted that in the case.

So this is my last brooch. I have 3 from Chanel, various pins from Coach, and now this from Balenciaga!

it's gorgeous, bake!! congrats on finding it and enjoy in good health!! :)

Here are some photos of my new love. Please bear with me, I am really enamored. [emoji7][emoji4]

Ok. So....For some reason today, it struck me how crazy it is to spend hundreds and thousands of dollars on a handbag.

Like really..

They're pretty sacks.

I'm not saying I won't spend it again because I most definitely will.

But, whew! A few random brain cells of normalcy (meaning not being a handbag addict) surfaced for just a few moments.

Anyone else, have a moment of "clarity" / "sanity"?? LOL!

me. pretty often.
even more often since i stopped buying insanely (4 months now)
and i have the same 'clarity' moments with scarves as well.
and it really helps to avoid the swirl of mad purchasing, i know every one has own limits and budgets, but seriously, thinking of those collections i've seen, like hundreds of scarves, or bags, i am asking myself - how many do i really need and use, and how many years/lives i will need to live to justify another addition????

I thought about this lately too. I thought more about the quantity I have. Though I have to say I truly enjoy them all.

further to above...
i have passed on a few bags, and a few scarves recently, just because this thought keeps coming back more and more often and feels like my sanity is taking over my 'hunger'
i will most probably buy more in the future, but this will be a VERY WELL WEIGHED decision and ref to the scarves, i have figured out i have most of colours covered, i may only need 1 or 2 more, and it will be a slow process

Yeah.

I have said it before but that moment of clarity/sanity she described is the one that drove away my thrill over premier handbags. It just got louder and louder in my head until I snapped out of the spell I had been under for several years and that was that. I no longer feel any bag, no matter how lovely and great it is, holds/sparks more than $500 of joy. Like that's the max pleasure I get. I used to get thousands of pleasure for my bags costing thousands of dollars, and it was in line. But then the spell wore off and I no longer could muster up four digits worth
Ofof thrill om

I was saying I can't muster up that level of thrill anymore so it's not worth it. For awhile I was just off bags but gradually came back by accident getting influenced on TPF with mzw and Massaccesi and then Etsy indie makers being a source of truly luxe feeling/looking bags for 10-20% of the price. I got into bags again because the joy I got from each bag was more than worth the few hundred I was paying. Things were back in alignment! My sweet spot, I guess!

One last comment: I totally empathize with all you strictly-premier purse lovers. BTDT so it's easy to 'get it' even though I'm not in that mode anymore. I don't feel superior because I can't feel the haute couture thrill anymore.
I think as long as you are getting the correct amount of joy from your bag purchases, whether it's a $29 fashion sequin clutch from the mall that is so perfect for that one event/one dress and just adorable so why not, you'll get way more than 29 bucks of fun out of it, or its a thousand times that price special Birkin. As long as the personal value is equal to what you pay then great! Assuming your purse addiction is not overrunning the available space you have for your trinkets or bleeding your retirement fund dry that is!!!
