There is a slip pocket behind the zip pocket, so in effect 2 rear pockets. And they are in back. I wasn't a fan of the front pockets in many of the Kristin versions as they looked like add ons and not truly functional.

Posting pics of my whiplash oxblood. Note this is after I took the fringe off and reattached only one small piece on each side under where the strap attaches. I can't describe this leather...its the best pebbled Coach I have...squishy and soft. Love the bag after I "defringed" it

I felt the same way at the first generation Kristins. It didn't bother me on the later generations because the pocket was bigger and seemed more integrated.
