I finally made it to the boutique to check out the new bags!

I liked the 23 oxblood saddle bag, but did not realize it had fringe so I left empty handed.

I think I saw a pic somewhere around here of a pebbled saddle bag without fringe--is that just wishful thinking?

If anyone has a style number please let me know! TIA!

I'm not so fond of the fringe either. But I wonder if they can be removed.

I had a play around with the oxblood whiplash saddle bag with fringe. It is beautiful! But I also thought the fringe was inconvenient. Yes, the fringe leather strips are removeable without disturbing the whiplash lacing. There is one set of strips at the top of the flap corners and more at the other end of the whiplash lacing on the main bag body forming the loose ended fringing decoration. They do not seem to be connected to the actual leather strips which creates the whiplash edging. Hope that is clear...
I dont think there is a plain saddlebag without fringing/whiplash in the oxblood colour though. Also the oxblood bag has lovely pebbled leather - which I did not see in the other coloured plain saddlebags.

I am not tied to oxblood--have you seen a pebbled saddle bag, no whiplash, no firing in any color? :p

Thanks for the description of the fringe.

I did see the tea rose saddle bag today...it really is adorable....I am thinking about it....:graucho:

No, there is no pebbled leather saddle bag without the fringe....yet. There is a possiblity that it may be produced for the fall line. I've been chasing information on that bag for a while. :p I really despise that back pocket, but I think I might could live with it on a pebbled no-fringe saddle bag. ;)

Hi! Did I read your post right??? The fringe pieces can be removed? I have the Oxblood & love it but am not fond of the fringe (some shorter pieces would be okay but the long length of the ones here are not flattering, IMO).
Did you remove them? I'm off to look more closely at mine...let me know...THANKS!

OMG....Silkpearl...you are my hero today! I really just took out all the fringe on my oxblood saddle bag. You are right...none of the fringe pieces tie directly to the whiplash. I will say that there are holes where the fringe comes out but IMO, nobody would notice it...if anything they may just say "how did you get one without fringe" ;)
I may try to reattach the two shortest pieces at some point so they would hang just to the very bottom tip of bag but if I can't, oh well.
Obviously, do NOT do this if you are on the fence about keeping the bag because it would probably be an incredible feat to put them back in.
Now, to me, this bag is LOVE! So much so may be off to get mineral!
Silkpearl...you gave me a Valentine's Day gift....THANK YOU!

I wouldn't have purchased the saddle bag without the back pocket. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Has anyone seen the Patchwork Saddle Bag 23?

I saw the Dinky on Saturday but they didn't have the Saddle bag yet...I'm trying to decide between the two styles.

Thoughts?

TIA!

It's not the fact that there is a pocket, it's the fact that the pocket looks like it was stuck on as an afterthought. I think a deep slip pocket would have worked much better...especially for people who have the really large phones.... and it wouldn't look like something that accidently got stuck to the back of the bag.
