It's an art street festival.

only this weekend, the people who live in part of the old town will close the road for three blocks (three junctions, actually, so more like 5-6 blocks?) and one of the art colleges and local people will participate in offering art activities to people and anyone can join in.
Here's DD using colored sand to paint on the street. (The staff sweep it all up after the day. When we left tonight, they were sweeping all off.)

We can take it home, but we have to wash it before so all the excess dye come off.

They did dry it first and already soak it with some kind of formula to make the dye stick. (I didn't get to ask much details. The staff are quite busy. They're all volunteer art students from a college in the area.)
A string orchestra? Violins and cellos.

There're also a mini concerts, mimes, puppets show, traditional plays, etc. and many other activities like making toys, speed illustration, etc. Overall, it's a very good time.
