2015 resolution - shopping from my own bag and wallet collection. Any one else?

Today I was at Nordstrom and saw that bucket bag I liked in person. It was very pretty but I would have hated trying to get in and out of it and the strap was too thin for my sensitive shoulders. So glad I did not order it sight unseen because it would have been returned.
and now you dont' even have to wonder 'what if' =)

It's on Tradesy, so we haven't met. She did ask me to lower the price once and I did. Then she mentioned the factory site, and I did ask her for the link. I do think it's likely a tactic to reduce the price again. Or the bag on the factory site is not the same as the one I'm selling.

IME, the bags on the factory site are only a season or two old. My bag is at least 2 years old, so it would surprise me if it showed up on the factory site at this point.
I hope it all works out!

Hello! I wanted to drop a line and let you know that I have been away from TPF and keeping myself otherwise occupied. Our family is making some adjustments in our life and that has kept me busy.

We are helping our kids with buying their first home. We have been looking and trying to decide what to get in a price range that works but still in a decent school district. Both kids are single and don't have plans to have kids in the near future (to my knowledge) but wanted them to understand how location plays a big factor. It's tough in our market as it's very expensive around where we live.

With this upcoming expense, I am going to try and go on a real ban. In order for me to stay true to that I have to limit my time on TFP and keep myself busy. I am going to try and keep active here but in a low key way. My problem is that I tend to wander into other threads and I get off track. Lol.

Since my last post, I did pick up a couple of things. I bought a Kate Spade rose gold planner that I love [emoji173]️. Then of course when I was there I saw a mini purse that was in the clearance section. I bought it. Think it's the mini romy but I really don't know anything about her bags. I was caught in the moment and still wonder if I should keep her. If I had been on my ban at the time I would have tried to resist more.

Recently I have not even carried a purse when going to work. Just throwing everything into a Henry Bendel freebie tote I got a few years ago. Otherwise I am still in my Julian during the weekends.

DC, Congrats on your new Julian mentioned a few posts up! I know you will enjoy her as I have. Glad to be twinsies with you!

I also want to wish everyone else well with shopping in your closets, finding new homes for your bags, buying new bags and resisting bags. I will pop in periodically but with year end sales going on, I will need to be extra strong to avoid temptation. I will be realistic and not ever say that I won't buy anything but it will be only very small items and even then I should be more strict with myself.

Hugs to all[emoji178]!

Good luck with the house search!

On the house front, I've been contemplating on selling a majority of my collection to fund my house down payment. It's like my last resort, if my overtime hours isn't enough to boost the fund. I'm looking at whatever I can sell at this point, to help fund that down payment before I resort to selling my bags.

I'm even thinking that I won't buy a bag in London, so I won't spend too much money.

Buying a house would so be worth it.

Egg, DC and Bake, thanks for the well wishes. I have lots of work to do in order to stay on my ban. My planner will help me stay on track (hopefully). Sheesh, I am already justifying...even though I bought it before the ban.

Note to self...shop my closet.

Best of luck to you in saving! Agree with DC. Worth the wait and it is TRULY an investment in financial terms.

It's a hard decision to not buy anything in London. Maybe one only....

I'm willing to sell some things, I'm willing to work more hours. But I really want to hold on some of them, and I know I want at least one bag on my trip. [emoji21] I don't know if I'll be able to do it.

I hope DS feels be better soon. It is so hard to watch your kids being sick.

Congratulations on new baby and your new bag! I have always resisted Lesportsac bags but few day ago bought new travel bag in Peanut fabric. My 3 years old DD loves it!

congrats to your cousin's baby!! and your new bag =) hope DS feels better soon!

I really like the graphic pattern. Congrats! More importantly I hope your son feels better.

Congrats for the new member of the family. [emoji16] I hope your son get well soon. ;)
And you know... I couldn't resist a good LS bag either. [emoji16] I think it's a very good buy. ;)

Congratulations!

And great bag! Isn't it nice to have to right bag for the right occasion?

Thanks guys! My new nephew is already home since last night. He's such a soft and fragile little thing! We love him to bits!

DS is getting better. He still has cough but doesn't get attacks as often as before. Hopefully before their 3rd Summative Exams and field trip next week, he's already in top shape. I hate to see him get slowed down by his allergic cough.

That's true, bake. That's why we can't just have 1 bag. :nogood::D

I've also resisted buying a Lesportsac before because I haven't found the print and size that I'll fall in love with. All the cute and colored ones are nice but I need a dark-colored bag bec. it will serve as my throw-around bag with mostly my 2 kids' stuff in it. This one is perfect for me -- lots of compartments and there's a zipper that goes around from one side of the bag to the other side which I can unzip to make the bag more spacious (I hope you get what I mean :)) I love everything about it!

Here you go, this is the Peanut lesportsac bag. It has cute Snoopy shaped zipper pull and comes with little pouch.

This is toooo cute!!! You remind me of a friend who's a die-hard snoopy fan! :smile1: She'd faint if she sees this! Haha!

So I ordered a petit h mystery box after finding out they were the bag charms. I didn't like any of the ones they had when petit h was here.

I got a cute monkey! The colors are really nice, I would've returned it if the colors were dark.

And I've been bad. I ordered a monogrammed Burberry kids scarf (I prefer the size and length of the smaller one lol). But I feel not so bad because DBF bought the one I wanted to sell. So at least one in one out.

I'm also tempted to order another petit h item. Haha.

Ooohhh a mystery box! Forgive my innocence (or ignorance?) but how does ordering a Petit H works? You don't know what you're going to get? :thinkin:

Welcome back!!!! I'm with you on the working mom and younger kids. Take your time. I wish I could spend more time with DD, too. :)

I like your wallet and the Rafe bag! That wallet seems to have great organization and that Rafe bag is beautiful. I hope you fall in love with it again before send it away. ;)

Ah... I love Starbucks Christmas coffee. Their peppermint mocha frappucino to be precise. [emoji16]

Thanks vink! I think I'll re-apply after the holidays. We've been busy at home since I resigned. DH will be home by January. He can take care of the kids so I think I'll have more time to apply and sort what kind of job fits me well.

True, the wallet has really nice organization. Rafe bag is resting now. But I still like it to stay in my collection for now :)

I'm loving Starbucks Christmas Panetonne hot beverage right now. Our mornings are cooler now and when I've got time, I go to the nearest branch after dropping DS to school. They open at 8am :smile1:

I'll admit being an outdated person here. I don't know both Sherlock and Downtown Abbey. [emoji28] One of my grade school friends rave about them, but I never really bother. I still watch Sofia the first with DD [emoji16] and the newest ones I know is Big Bang theory.
I will check both out.

I'm still in my wide horn. It's been more than a month now, but I'm happy with it a lot. It's light and hold a ton. And I don't have to worry about banging it into things, which I just did the couple days ago. (I was so shocked, but there's no scratch marks on the surface. I'm so relieved.) And since it's still rain here everyday, I'm glad to have my bag waterproof.

There're so much work lately. I think I'm getting lazy and really don't know what bag to change into.

Haha! Sofia the First is also one of DD's favorites on Disney Jr. And we've watched episodes over cable TV over and over again. I can't even clear my head with the show's song. I even sing it involuntarily, lol!

I'm sorry but I have forgotten what the wide horn looks like but it sounds like a pretty great bag for being lightweight, spacious and tough. Everyone needs that kind of bag IMO :smile1:

When I first wrote asking about all your thoughts I had asked the girl to hold it for me for a short time. I was hoping someone was online to sort of shop with me ,but when I checked the other store that sells Rm they were out of the bucket in store and the Julian they had left was in rough shape. So I went back to the other store and all their Julians were the huge pebble leather or super light colors all the others were sold out since they were having 25% off. So I decided to grab it. I have been eyeing it for months now. We drove over an hour and a half to get there and it was so worth it. Though my dh said the photo I took of it looks like a big Butt. Oh Men!

Tested out my new Julian today and it worked wonderfully. It so comfortable and the zip pocket against my back fits my tumi wallet perfectly. That is another thing that had worked out so well was the tumi wallet. I have not changed out of it since I bought it in September. It works like my zippy coin purse but more roomy and it is RFID protection. Wish I could stay in the Julian but tomorrow we have a sporting event.

Lol on the big butt comment by DH! Now that he's mentioned it..... haha!

Glad you're truly enjoying your Julian! That's what matters most :) It really made the purchase so worthy.

:
Lovely tree! I've not put up a tree in sooo long in my house here. I normally spend Christmas in my hometown. I don't also have a parol. :nogood: Lovely mug collection!

Thanks msd! I am usually lazy to put up the tree myself (but I DID love setting it up when I was younger, like in my 20's), luckily my auntie volunteered. Who am I to say no? Haha!

Does spending Christmas in your hometown sort of like a family reunion?

Not part of the APEC meetings. :smile1: Which means I will be on break starting Tuesday. :yahoo: I plan to do some sorting and decluttering at home.

Hope your DS is okay! Such a wonderful bag! Congrats! When is your Cupid coming to you? ;)

Yay for long breaks!.. And DS is getting better.. I'll get the Mini Cupid soon. Just finding a free weekend ;):graucho:

Yes it's a mystery box. We usually wait for a brave person on the petit h thread to get the item and if it's a good one everyone else orders.

It's pretty random. Right now the random surprise is super expensive.

I've got to be better now.

I decided to start selling in small spurts. DBF was warning me not to sell my LV, H, and Chanel because I would waste more money rebuying them later.

So I'm selling other things that are not my highest end bags, and I will limit myself to only one bag in London.

Really trying to be focused on shopping my closet until then, and to really limit my spending.

I may choose to sell a couple LVs, but I'll wait until I really can part with them. I couldn't put any of them in a sell pile. [emoji29] it's too hard.
