So going back to the storage issue...

I keep certain bags locked up with my jewelry. I keep most of them in my closet, which isn't a problem because they don't take a lot of space. But now I have 16 bags and two of them are LPs I can't fold. And my Keychain collection has exploded.

So any suggestions on storage? I can't get a cabinet or anything. I have the lone shelf on top of the clothes rod in my standard closet that I can clear up and use. But tossing them up there means that they can fall or slip off.

Should I get boxes or something to corral them before putting them on the shelf?

Any suggestions for my keychains?

I got one of these at home depot for my 36" closet shelf, and put it on its side, with the bottom flush against the wall:

It's cheap. Not a permanent elegant solution but very workable. I don't invest a lot of money in closets.

The bottoms of the shelves are not finished, so I put the bags in their dustbags to protect them. It gives me a bottom shelf with 3 cubes and an extra thin tall section (the leftover space in the closet), then an open top shelf for taller bags. I can fit 8 coach penny purses in one cube! The upper shelf is a little bit of a squeeze through the closet door, but it's manageable.

There is a thread "do you use your dustbags" that shared someone's closet that had clear boxes (I think they were sweater boxes from the container store). Could you use something like that? Or shelf dividers to keep them up there? Or a random spot is one of those long storage bins that slides under a bed and you can lay the bags in there?

Let us know what you figured out.

Caved and went to TJMaxx. No bags but bought a Vince jacket. I did however did not buy any other clothes or shoes or bags. Also, consignment shop online accepted the bag and got way more than I expected. I cruised the site and found something eye catching to me. Off to start researching. Moved on from the lockit idea. The north/south idea just isn't me. Ladies... I don't know if I can be strong knowing I have a credit burning a hole. Will completely research this bag before I pull the trigger.

I'm looking at shelf dividers but wanted other options as well.

I'll check out the container store.

Great job!

Oh, cute bag! I don't remember seeing this one. Love the pebbled leather!

Good job!

I've seen on the Coach forum where ladies have their collection hanging on a cork board.

Thanks.

And I do like the cork board idea but I have no where to hang it :(

Ooh this is doable too. Plus those shelves are inexpensive. I'll have to see what bags could fit in the cube.

Hey, BS has new handcream! Will have to check that out.

Didn't cave! But the bag was also gone cuz it ended up changing to extra 30 per cent off!!! But I'm happy I didn't buy it - self high-five haha

Great job!

I am so sorry JennyErin about the loss of your dear dog. I am glad she is no longer suffering. You have been having a rough patch; I hope you feel better soon. Take care and don't ever worry about venting. That's what friends are for; and you're always such a positive presence on this thread.

Awww thank you so much Mimmy :) you are so sweet, yes she is in a better place. My one friend who lost her dog Bella a couple years ago told me that Koda and Bella are probably eating steaks and running through a sunny field in doggy heaven. That thought makes me very happy and yeah it makes me cry too a bit :). I am feeling much better today, throat still sore but at least I can eat and swallow without to much pain, hoping to be right as rain tomorrow :)

hey everyone! wow, i can't keep up w this thread, but i'm thrilled there's so much support to help us all stick to our resolutions. :D

for those who recently lost a furry loved one, JennyErin, clevercat, i'm sooo sorry. sending you my thoughts and prayers. *hug* our dog (just turned 5) is the apple of my eye, and for now, i'm going to live in denial that she's not immortal. i'm just going to enjoy every day i have w her and not think that far ahead. she's the first pet of any kind that my husband and i have had, so we're really attached.

thanks for posting all of the pictures! i love seeing the bags, SLGs, bag contents, etc.

since i was feeling a bit restless, i changed out my wallet (which only happens about once/year? LOL) to a longer slim MJ leather metallic rose gold zippered clutch (from a smaller MJ french style wallet). MJ wallets are workhorses! i've got 3 total and they can all take a beating. i don't baby my wallets at all and tend to use the same one daily for a LONG time. i'll post a pic when i get a chance.

as for storage, how about buying those hanging clothes organizers? i use one of them for some of my purses.

if you only have the top shelf above a closet rod, how about these shelf dividers? i was thinking about buying some to help keep my folded clothing stacks neat.

Awww thunder thank you so much! Your pup sounds precious :) and can't wait to see your wallet in action! Love seeing MJ wallets!

I have to go back to yesterday night's location again and will have to cut through the Bay. I hope that RLL bag isn't still there... I pulled away once.... second time may not be so lucky =S

You can do it egg! Stay strong!

Good job just picking up the jacket lou and woo hoo on the sale! I wouldn't be to hard on yourself if you have credit you want to use it and at least you will fully research before committing to anything, that's awesome!

Just popping in for a catching up.

JennyErin and Clevercat I'm so sorry about the loss of your furry friends. Think of all the good times you spend together. I hope you will feel better soon.

Beautiful beautiful bags everyone. So much eye candy...

... Regarding the Ritter candy: the white chocolate with hazelnuts is our favorite at the office. I'm glad that my colleague is much faster than myself. I get two pieces and she eats the rest. 😉

Thanks for the RM Wine MAM love ladies! I agree with other RM fans that Wine leather is one of the most amazing leathers used by RM.

My two cents on comparison between older and newer RMs. I got crazy over RMs in 2013 (same time I discovered tpf). I've had both older and newer MAMs and I can definitely say I love the older (until around 2010) MAMs more. The leather and quality were just topnotch. My older ones were naturally pre-loved, but despite the age, you could tell the leathers were high class. My favorite combination/release of MAM is that with lambskin leather and engraved hardware (around 2008/2009). Very elegant!

I've been downsizing my RM collection lately and it was harder to let go of preloved beauties than the more recent brand new purchases.

Lou- Congrats on not buying a bag.
Cupcake- when you carry your pochette do you carry it like a clutch. I actually took mine out to use but did not feel like holding it ,so it went back in the closet.
Egg- Congrats on not getting the bag.
Bake - I was looking at your burberry online and it said pvc and leather. Is it not a coated canvas? I love the dark leather on it.
Jenny- The dogs running in a field in doggy heaven is how I envision my dogs that passed too.

Ohh, a Vince jacket; which one is it? I passed on a black leather, moto one last year and still kind of regret it.

Great job on consigning your bag, and getting more than expected lou!

Great job on resisting the bag that wasn't there! But seriously great job, because you didn't buy another bag either. :)

I am up early today because I need to resume my yoga routine. I am feeling better; don't think I'll have a coughing fit during class.
