Speaking of saddle bags, I was in Nordstrom Rack the other day and they had some Coach saddle bags at a deeper than usual discount, they looked like they were 1941 because of the leather quality, leather lining and the gold "Genuine Glovetanned Leather" stamp. Yet the hangtags were regular Coach New York tags and, most oddly, there was a piece of thin plain leather sewed in where the creed was supposed to be! Price tag was a Coach tag although the print was a little different. Thought it was all so odd I investigated further when I stopped in tonight. This time I looked at the model tag inside and it was 37200C from 2015. Turns out it was this - http://www.coach.com/saddle-bag-with-personalized-storypatch/37200C.html Which explains why there is just a plain leather patch in the creed spot! And the photos in the listing have regular Coach tags, probably because the 1941 line was new then and still evolving the branding I guess. Still very unusual these would show up somewhere, they must have had a quite an overrun on these bags.
Did you post this somewhere the authenticators could see? There is 1 of these on ebay right now, but the seller doesn't show pics of the inside or mention it. She just says she won at a raffle. If she sold this to me, I would think it was fake or at least be very baffled by that patch.

Thank you for investigating. I'm not sure I would buy like that either as I would feel very uncomfortable donating it after I'm done with it.

Where would I do that to bring it to the authenticators' attention? Just realized that big foam wrapped square that I see in the ebay listing that I also saw attached to these bags might actually contain a blank creed label to be personalized!

Maybe either pm BeenBurned or put in the authenticate this thread. They check that thread all the time so it would let everyone know they are legit bags.
Interesting, so I wonder if you buy the bag, can you take to coach to personalize (and who would sew it on?)

The bags are authentic. When these saddle bags were released Coach offered personalized creed patches. I am guessing they didn't sell well.

Couldn't access to post them the other day, but here's a couple of pics of what I was talking about:View attachment 3751843View attachment 3751844View attachment 3751845
I'll say it here as well as on AT Coach: There's no way I'd recommend buying any of those bags from any seller other than Coach or an authorized retailer. And even then, there's the risk of a dishonest seller having done a "buy and switch" and returning a fake. (Refer to the Loukpeach discussion on the ebay subforum.) The newer bags with weird non-serial numbers or sans serial numbers are already so closely faked that they're extremely time-consuming and difficult to authenticate and now, they're making it even more difficult.

Oh, and another reason why those bags are impractical is that like most of us, we tire of our bags and resell to fund another purchase. Who's going to want to buy your personalized bag? Has anyone noticed how hard it is to sell monogrammed items?

That is why I found it weird! My Nordstrom Rack had at least 15 of these in three colors, and they retained much of the original packaging, so this really does appear to be a stock dump from Coach rather than fraudulent returns.
I wasn't implying that these items are fraudulent returns, but this type of item makes it difficult to identify a fake should a dishonest customer pull it off.
