My SA said that the boutiques that do have them are holding on to them for their clients. Good news is this will become part of Chanel’s permanent line so there is an opportunity to get one in the future. I’ve seen a few for sale through Instagram sellers if you don’t mind going preloved. This collection is new so the ones available should be in excellent condition.

Hi All,
I bought the small black 19 flap bag in black but am returning it. I love the look of it but having it for a week made me realize the style isn’t for me (see pic). I’m not sure what it is about the bag that doesn’t suit me. It really is beautiful but maybe it’s the extra large gold cc or maybe that gold chain that hangs down the middle which is used as a handle that bothers me, not quite sure. I’m thinking of just getting the black boy bag with ruthenium hardware instead. I already have a classic flap in the medium size so I think getting a boy Next might be the best thing to do. Any opinions out there on the boy bag? I think I feel more comfortable having something that is considered a classic and that’s been around for a long time.

This looks sooo good on you and really suits your style. I do know what you mean about having doubts and thinking you may return it for a more tried and tested classic though. I am in the same boat as I really love the look of the 19 but it’s such a standout bag and I’m still not sure about it being a new classic which is what puts me off. If it was half the price I’d be very tempted but at the moment I keep going back and forth.

I have a new medium caviar Boy with ruthenium hardware which I’ve had for about 5 years now. I absolutely love it and it still looks brand new. It’s very boxy though. I think it is not dissimilar to the 19 in the sense that it is edgy and has the chunky chain. Definitely worth trying it to see how you feel.

I agree if the bag was half the price.. It would be much easier to bite the bullet.

I saw the 19 in all sizes in person the other day and I wasn't a fan of the look of chain or the extra large quilting. My SA also pointed out that since it is so unstructured to begin with that with time it will just get even more floppy. The leather was incredibly soft and divine though, so if you don't mind the unstructured look, then I think you will enjoy the design of this bag if you also like the look of the oversized chain. I ended up passing and getting a metallic reissue instead.

Thank you! I ended up returning the 19 flap bag and getting the black boy bag in the old medium size and feel like it suits me better. There were other beautiful boy bags in other colors that were very tempting to buy I think I’ll get a lot more use out of the black one ! When it comes to these prices I just can’t seem to venture out and try different colors!

Wow, I think that bag looks so fabulous on you. But I’m a big believer of getting something that you’re going to absolutely love and use. Get something that fits your lifestyle and you have no doubts about it. Designer handbags are way too expensive to collect dust in a closet. The boy with rhw is a great choice! I have that bag as well and love it. Although I’m a HUGE fan of the squishiness of the leather on the 19 flap I also love the structured look of the boy and classic flaps. I’ve only had my boy for about 7 months so don’t yet know how it will wear over time. One big thing thing my SA told me is to be careful of how I store the boy and be careful not to squish it during wear as overtime it can have structure loss if not stored and taken care of properly. Post pics if you decide to go with the boy. Hard to go too wrong with Chanel bags. Most are lovely.

I think you made the perfect choice. I am the same, I only ever go for black. The times when I have bought bags in other colours I’ve always ended up returning them or selling them. I have had my Boy for several years now and I never tire of it and it still looks brand new. I see it as a carefree bag but also a very special bag. You can be happy in the knowledge that you got a true classic. I’m still trying to decide whether to exchange Trendy CC for a caviar classic flap. Such a tough decision.

The bag looks really good on you . I think the tweed very nice on this particular style . You should keep it ;-)) People on the fence I think it’s newer style , not many review yet , and price point little high , but this will be the new classic, I heard it’ll be permanent collection.

Will it be in the permanent collect? Ooh... Happy to hear that. I know Chanel makes improvements to bags sometimes so maybe they'll find a way to make the chain not so heavy. Also I'm not feeling the shiny leather... So gonna hold off and see if this bag will evolve.
