$150 ~ Start a Pandora bracelet or buy a piece of Tiffany?

This is kind of a fun question, so I imagine the person who brought this thread back to life didn't even notice the date. =P It's convenient that the Pandora brand is still relevant, so the idea of "Pandora vs Tiffany" is still interesting.

Personally, I prefer Tiffany over Pandora. I like the designs better and I've never been a fan of crowded charm bracelets or chunky designs. I feel like by the time you complete a Pandora bracelet, the money you've spent on what is now essentially one piece of jewelry could've bought you something higher end from Tiffany's. As for meaningfulness, for me when I really really like something, I never forget who gave it to me and when and where. I guess with the charms you can stack meaningful memories in one piece of jewelry, but I still find myself preferring the "specialness" of Tiffany.

As a person who daily wears a Pandora next to a Tiffany, I'm interesting in the question even if it's old!
My Tiffany is supposed to hold charms, but I had too many issues with those, so I wear it bare. It's nice without being too "bling bling".
My Pandora is at least twice the price, twice as heavy, and I love the fact that every bead on it has a significance and was carefully chosen.
But I'm now more intersted in other brands (ohm and trollbeads) as I don't like the new Pandora style, and I don't think it would be an ideal gift for someone who would not want to start collecting after that.

Wow... this thread is OLD! But I prefer Tiffany & Co.. My MIL started a Pandora bracelet for me when my son was born 5 years ago, and I never reach for it. I believe that a Tiffany & Co. piece would get more wear than Pandora. At least, that's how it works in my household...
