So funny....this is EXACTLY what my Mom said! I adore tanzanite! I will have to shelf that idea for a year or so, and introduce it to DH gently!
haha that is funny, great minds think alike:p when you do buy look online at some of the gem cutters, if you buy directly from them its waay less expensive then buying a loose gemstone at a jewellery store.:smile1:

I love the E/W look, very chic and european looking! I love the RG and a simple look, just concerned about a full bezel...sometimes restricts light saturation. Maybe a half bezel...just at the ends/points, leave the middle open.
Your stacks sound stunning, too!

I agree this was my worry too, or if its going to have a full bezel make sure it has a setting that lifts the bezel off your finger to let light under the stone.

Great point as a bezel will restrict light saturation.

I think the E/W look is very modern.

Oh...there will be no bezel at all. It will be exactly as the pic in #2, just in rose gold, and the rose gold will be like the setting in #3. The jeweler I am speaking too was confused about that as well....I was only using pic #3 as a reference for how I would like to gold t look!! Sorry for the confusion!! I am being quoted about $800. DOes that sound reasonable???

Ame...I adore rose gold and always have! I like it best when the color is similar to my pic #3. I think as the content gets higher (18k) it gets a bit more orange. I like a very gentle rose color. :)

OP - your size marquise will look amazing set E-W!
I've thought about doing that with my original e-ring. It is a .93 very skinny one. So I've been very reluctant. But I have a wonderful jeweler that might have some great suggestions to make it appear wider. Maybe someday.....

Anne...that should be stunning, especially with your stacks!!

OKey doke....I found this ring and I think this setting design is it!!! Of course in hammered rose gold. What do you ladies think. For comparison, this is a 1 carat round stone. Mine is a little over 2 carats marquise (set east/west)!! Thanks so much for all of your help and opinions!

I know the pic is crappy....I took it off my computer screen, as he original was taken with my cell phone. The bezel is very small and you can see the stone suspended underneath.

Opinions??
