I could have sworn that I started a thread many months ago about this, but I could not find it anywhere! I apologize if I did and have now started another!! OK....my anniversary is in a few months and I have wanted to simplify my wedding ring for many years. I think I finally have my husband on board, but I really wanted to come here and get some opinions of what I am thinking! I currently have a marquise ring (pictured below) set on a wide band of baguettes. I would like to flip it east/west (as in pic. #2) and have it set in rose gold with a more "artistic" feeling to the gold (pic. #3). I do not want to have the diamonds on the side....so I am really simplifying, but my solitaire is beautiful and I would like it to be the centerpiece. I have 4 eternity bands (2 rose gold, 2 yellow), so I would plan on stacking sometimes. What do you think?? Suggestions?? Comments?? Thanks so much for any feedback! I am a bit nervous!

Thanks ladies...and hokaplan...not at all! The marquise is app. 2.25 carats. And i like that is iot very proportionate (not too skinny). I think it would look ok flipped east/west.

What is funny is that I have wanted it to be set east/west for about 10 years. Now it is very in style to set a marquise that way. I do not want to be trendy, but feel like I could be happy with the simplicity forever. I have not worn my ring in almost 4 years...I would really like to start wearing it again and feel like it is "me"!

I absolutely ADORE the idea of E-W set in rose gold with an artistic setting like in pic 3!! I love the organic feel of that setting. A subtle bezel like that would be soooo beautiful and would provide a really interesting and unique contrast in color, between the rose gold and the white of the diamond. Definitely a good call to leave the setting simple, without side diamonds. What do your stack rings look like?

Hi Kristy....my stacks are all the same as the one in the first pic. They are David Yurman and I think they are almost 2 carats each. When my husband bought them for our 10th anniversary, I questioned why he bought 4 of the same ring. His reply, "they were displayed together, so I just assumed you were supposed to get all 4....like a set". So....I have 2 rose gold, 2 yellow gold!

I also LOVE the organic feel of the setting in the 3rd pic, and it is exactly the feel that I want!

love this idea, it will look so fresh and modern! even if you wanted to include your baguettes, you could put a few on either side of the shank also set east west?

Thanks so much for your reply! I am going to leave the original setting "as is", just in case I get sentimental and want to go back to it! Or....if either of my daughters decide too, they could use it for their engagement rings one day! I had also thought of the baguettes on either side, but think I want to keep it very simple!

Great idea on east west concept. Are you planning to stack your bands on the east west concept ring? If so, I wouldn't ...I think the rose gold setting will be all you need and a simple band would bring a more moden/classic look. My two cents.

I would prefer to wear my stacks on the right hand...with the exception of one, perhaps! I agree with keeping it simple!

Wish I could figure out how to multi-quote! I have been a member here for 5 years and still don't know all the tricks!
