I'm probably crazy to be looking at this, but I'd love an opinion (or twenty):

Item: Hermes Raisin Chevre Mysore Bolide 31
Listing Number: Portero SKU 11517-1
Seller: Portero.com
Link: http://portero.com/hermes-raisin-chevre-mysore-leather-shooting-star-31cm-bolide-bag.html
Comments: This is a shooting star bag (I know, I know :p). I emailed them for pictures of the lock, the blindstamp, and the other side of the bag, and was told that other pictures are not available. I was told that the date stamp is F for 2002. Also, when I did a search on the forums, the only hit I got for this bag was an eBay listing in the "Finds" thread from March of this year.
Questions: Am I an idiot to want a shooting star bag, even if it is a delicious color goat? Am I to assume this is a consignment bag not in their possession? The price is good, so is there the possibility that the bag is not authentic, or is it merely so reasonable because of the craftsman stamp?

Many thanks for any and all opinions rendered. TIA.

Looks authentic to me. I have this exact bag, except mine has a gold zip and HW. The only thing that concerns me if that it looks rippled as if was overstuffed. I would try to get close-ups of the edges to make sure they are not scuffed.

Thanks, gracekelly. The rippling was a bit troublesome to me as well. When you use the zoom function on the Portero photos that are on the site (other views are not available, I'm told), you can see some minor scuffing to the seams near the bottom, at one of the corners under the rippling (this is the worst scuffing) and the vertical seam near the zipper pull tab.

Is it unusual for this bag to not have metal feet or the horizontal stitching near the handle terminus points? There is also no slot for a lock in the zipper tab, and no "H" on the zipper itself. Am I to assume no lock or clochette on this particular bag? And are these all the customizing choices of the craftsman?

Thanks again for the input. I really appreciate it.

My bag has feet, lock and clochette. This does not appear to be a WEB bag. The handles do not look small and zipp does not appear tp be a WEB zip. I'm guessing that this was the customization of the craftsperson. No feet. Why? Beats me as it will not wear as well. The lock and clochette could have been lost or never made. This all acounts for the lower price I imagine.

It doesn't look like a Bolide or Web to me. I have both, and neither are like this one. Like Grace, I can only assume it was it was customized by the craftsperson. I've sure never seen anything like it.

It looks like a naked Web. KWIM? The handles are too short to be a Bolide.

bump.
What do you think about this?
Item: HERMES BIRKIN BAG VERT ANIS TOGO LEATHER 35CM
Listing number: 260484570374
Seller: rtwcloset

Comments: the seller's feedback looks dependable, but she sells mostly ready to wear clothing. could this be real and authentic as stated on listing?
Thank youu

Yes it could be authentic.

Unfortunately the defintion and size of pictures are so poor that it is not safe to tell.

If you are interested in this bag, you might be willing to ask seller to email you HD pictures in a larger size.

You think the handles are short for Bolide? I thought the were too big for a Web LOL! The craftsperson made their own style and then decided they didn't want it.

Strange bag. I am not able to get the pictures to enlarge this evening...
The other thing is this is lined with chevre, not agneau. that may account for the wrinkling, or perhaps will make the bag heavier.

The lack of feet, shoulder strap, lock, clochette are all real minuses for me. I think the price could be lower. IMHO. I feel that the bolide feet are not only functional, but charming too.

I am not jazzed about this bag, unfortunately. I love the color, but it seems to be a unique little bag that is missing some key elements.

sad to say.

<You think the handles are short for Bolide? I thought the were too big for a Web LOL!>

Yep. I have both, and the handles on this one have about a three inch drop, like my Web.

<The craftsperson made their own style and then decided they didn't want it.>

Sure looks that way! LOL! The leather is divine, though.
