Hello all! I’m not sure if this post goes here, so moderators please let me know

I bought these Chanel shoes, maybe 10 years ago, worn once (!!!) and I’ve done some cleaning during the pandemic and noticed that the white patent leather has tarnished and there’s a yellow hue. Can Chanel do anything about this? Their shoes should not discolor over time.

Hi! This is a 10 year old shoe, so no... Chanel is not going to fix it, and this is not their problem really.
Also, this is patent, and patent is very tough to touch up. The yellow is all over the edge of the shoe, I would suggest you take it to a very good shoe repair.

That said, I would think twice if you really intend to wear this shoe. You have not worn it for 10 years, so will you really wear it again? If not, I would not bother spending the money to fix it. Patent is not easy to redye. It is a special process.

Good luck!

Unfortunately the yellowing of vinyl as it oxidizes is a natural process and is most visible on light colours. My SA told me to stay away from their recent cruise line that had all the pvc items for this very reason.

Well it was a birthday present that I wore so it has great memories. True, I haven’t worn it but it is not something I just want to throw out, for sentimental reasons mostly.
