Product recommendations for fine, flat hair?

I'm so jealous of ladies who have thick, luscious hair! Mine is very fine, and flat, and sticks to my head so it's not flattering. I have medium length straight hair past my shoulders but tangles easily. I have tried Nioxin before (smells horrible!), and am currently using Living Proof shampoo and conditioner just at the ends.

Any product recommendations for more volume??

Hi ! I have fine blonde hair but lots of it. I got the Kenra voluminzing shampoo . It works great ! Also do not condition your hair alot . Also Keratin and shampoos with lots of cones in them stay clear away !!! ..lol. Weighs down hair.

I feel your pain! I have flat fine Asian hair. All it knows how to do is stay straight. I've found that using a boar hair brush really helps with the volume. It somehow separates the hair strands so it looks like you have more hair than you really do. For shampoo, I like Lush's Big. It smells horrible, but it works!

As a professional stylist I would recommend kerastaste volume active shampoo conditioner moose and root lifter. It's amazing, my hairinstagram is @hairbylexie ... U can find online or speciality salons. Any hair questions ask away.

Kreverest I so feel your pain. I have similar hair and gave up a long time ago. My hair lives in a strait pulled back ponytail or bun. Hair sticks etc are my best friend.

Recently the beauty specialist at my local health food store recommended Andalou Lavender & Biotin Shampoo. Adds Lift, Body, and Shine. Love it and so far I can see a difference. It has fruit stem cells and is a natural product, very important IMO.

Also think there are some supplements that thicken your hair while improving your bones and nails but not knowledgable enough to make recommendations.

Have you tried volumising powders? I have one by Shu Uemura that has a brush applicator on one end but I have to use it very sparingly on the roots only or I end up with a sticky, matte mess. Osis Dust It by Schwarzkopf and Kevin Murphy Powder Puff both get good reviews but I haven't tried either one.

I really dislike the ones that add colour or leave a white residue. I also dislike those with a heavy fragrance.

You are not going to have silky, shiny hair with these products so you might not like them but they add texture.

On the other hand, I have been using Fuller's Earth to lighten my facial skin and if any of the powder gets into my hair it has the same effect and is a lot cheaper.

Adding subtle streaks also gives my hair texture.

Hi! I love Kerastase but I get lost in all their product lines (I use the orange line... Bain shampoo, masquintense, nectar Thermique), so I'm trying others. I have tried Oribe and like it, not sure if it's better than Kerastase and just purchased Althena. Do you have any thoughts on these two lines compared to Kerastase? Thank you.

My hair is fine and straight.

Styling product - Shu Uemura thickening spray - I think it is called liquid fabric or something like that. The shampoo/conditioner are good but way $$$. The spray is totally worth it though.

I don't believe shampoo and conditioner will add thickness or volume alone, First I would invest in a round brush and a good blow dryer and give yourself a perfect blow dry and then Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray will add volume in seconds.

I've used this andalou naturals shampoo and conditioner for about six months and it definitely works! Its a bit drying but I think that's typical for most volumizing shampoos. Taking a multivitamin with biotin or a biotin supplement can help with hair growth, but maybe it can also help with thickness.

Thanks i*bella! Just saw your post. Sorry no notifications. Drier is ok in the winter as I wear hats a lot. I'll add biotin into my vitamin mix.

My MIL is using this Thin to thick extra volume series by Jasons gotten from amazon, Shampoo, conditioner, scalp serum. It contains natural ingredients no harsh chemicals. Thus its usable for people with sensitive scalp. Although it will not magically make your hair grow but we it did observe improvements over a while.

Previouly she was using the highly raved Nioxin products, the product works but had stopped due to scalp irritation. And nioxin is quite price.
