glaze at edge of handles

Is the glaze at the edge of the handles of my papillon purely an aesthetic thing or is it there for a reason?
The reason I am asking, is that it is starting to wear off and I am wondering if I should be worried and send it in to reglaze?

Glaze is simply used to hold things together... kinda like a glue.

I think you should bring it by the boutique to see what they think.

Since the handles are stitched together, they shouldn't fall apart or anything, right?!?!

Well this is the way I see it: If the glazing wasn't there on handles, like the Papillon for instance, then a possibility of fraying on the sides of the leather handles would occur.

I agree w/ John... it will start to fray. My Speedy 30 has started to do this

take it to your LV and see what they say I think its just a nice way to edge the leather so hopefully it wont fray.

I don't have an LV close to me so I have to make a conscious effort to remember to bring it with me on my next trip to Vancouver or Toronto. That is what I am going to have to do though.
