How resistant is the Patent Black Belle du Jour to rain? Does it stain? Does the color fade out? How is the wear and tear along the years?

I would love to have it in either olive military green or black.

YSL patent although soft and beautifully textured, is amazingly resistant to rain and wear. It look as new after years and years. One of the best patent leathers around.

Like what vesna said, YSL patent leather ages well. As long as you don't overly abuse the leather, it will last a long time. I've taken YSL patent leather (and regular leather) bags out in the rain and didn't get any damage at all.
