I am in a grad program in criminology & at our big conference last fall there were a lot of membersof the division on feminist criminology wearing high heels and makeup and plenty of the "big names" in the field were dressed like girls.
IMO, a big part of being a feminist is that people will take you just as seriously in heels as in Birkenstocks
