i've heard lavender oil can work. I have used lavender oil to get coin marks off the inside off my vernis louis vuitton wallet and it worked beautifully, nice and gentle and made my wallet smell lovely too

I was going to suggest orange oil. I know it works great at getting sticker residue off. If you go that route, just try a teeny bit first, because I am not sure what that would do to the leather.
