Cartier Tank Francaise Watch

I have just purchased mine and had links removed so that it fits comfortably on top of my wrist and doesn't swing around (so that the face doesn't sit under my wrist if you get what I mean), but I'm also thinking of wearing it loose (more like a bracelet), does anyone wear there's loose and is it comfortable? Does the face get scratched?

I had some links removed and was wearing mine tight. Too tight. It left marks on my wrist. So I went back to Cartier and at the suggestion of the SA added two links back. Now it is very loose and hangs "below" my wrist like a bracelet. I didn't really love that and asked the SA if I should remove one link to make it tighter. She said the watch is meant to be worn like a bracelet...and if it bothered me after wearing it a while to come back in and they'll remove one link. It is really bothering me now. I am so afraid to whack it that I don't even want to wear it. And I am annoyed that I have to make another trip to get another link removed. Plus I think the watch looks silly hanging loose, is it just me?

OMG immediately after I purchased my tank solo from my SA and she was sizing me to see how many links to take out we had this weird mini argument about how it should fit. She said that the franciase and tanks are meant to be loose so they can spin, claiming it was the "style." She was nice about it but I told her I like to wear it very fitted. She kept trying to talk me out of it. Telling me when it's hot out my wrists will get bigger or it might be uncomfortable. I like it fitted but not skin tight! I finally got my way and contrary to her expectation, I have not regretted it. I don't like loose watches....they bug the crap out of me.

Loose! She fitted it snug at first but it was a hot day and the weight of the watch was so new that I had her add back in a link. But not enough to spin around. It has the bracelet look. They said at the store that people do both. Wear what is most comfortable!

This post got me thinking maybe mine is too lose... so I took out a link myself!! Super easy if u have a baby screwdriver! I figured I have 4 extra links so i was safe if something went wrong....but it was so easy!!! Skip the store and find what fits at home.

I wanted a medium all yellow gold TF with no calendar (classic and simple) but Cartier doesn't make them anymore. I was extremely fortunate to find one in excellent condition at an online reseller - it had all of the links (and extras). It was too big for me so I had to go to Cartier and get links removed. The repair specialist, who actually works in this particular Cartier en suite, asked me how I wanted the watch to sit on my wrist; after I explained that I wanted it "not too lose, not too tight and always faced up", he told me how many links he would take off. It's been perfect since then...so in my case, neither loose nor tight but just right...
