how long do you think the chanel 19 will stay relevant?

considering a chanel 19 in the small size but wondering if this is something id easily fall out of love with.
I chose my first classic flap over the 19 last year then added a mini and a woc.
I said id never add another classic flap at these prices but im now about to add another.
I've been looking on preloved sites a lot recently and the 19 has actually been the bag turning my head the most. I can't stop thinking about it but I've already noticed its not quite as popular as it once was and im worried that if it looses popularity it will also make me fall out of love with it. I know I shouldn't think like this but I have to be honest with myself as its happened in the past.
As im buying a classic flap, chances are by the time I can purchase another bag there could have been a price increase so im more than likely going to be paying over £6,000 in the uk.
do you think the 19 is here to stay and worth current price/another price increase?
or am I just having a moment that is likely going to lead to an impulse purchase that I may later regret?
all my bags are black so the 19 would be a fun pop of colour or a tweed.

Hello Purseforum,

I would love your honest opinions on my conundrum as I am utterly 50/50 on the fence about this choice.

I am getting engaged soon to my partner and I am unable to decide between the Cartier 1895 vs the Tiffany classic solitaire. I love the classic, understated charm of the Cartier 1895, but I also love the bold statement and princessy-look of the Tiffany classic. I am in my late 30s so I feel like I would enjoy the 1895 a bit more as I age and I am a Cartier fan as well. However, the Tiffany is such a classic setting and I do love how architectural the setting is and how it sits so high.

I have small hands and small fingers so I am looking at 1.5 carats max. for everyday as I work in a traditional setting. I would wear the band and ring separately or together depending on the occasion.

I am pretty set on getting either of the two as I already have diamond jewelry from private jewelers that are friends of the family. I am fully aware that I am paying tremendous amount of extra $$$ for the brand, and I am totally OK with it.

I want the wedding band to be from the same brand as the engagement ring.

The Tiffany 6-prong engagement ring and band accentuate the 'circular' roundness of the diamonds vs. the Cartier 1895 4 prong settings make the diamond engagement ring and band look 'square'.

This forum has been so helpful for me to make decisions in the past so thank you so much in advance xo

Burberry Westminster

Dear all,
I'm on the lookout for a somewhat oversized Burberry trench in a classic beige. I already have a Harbourne in black and a tropical gabardine oversize variety (seasonal SS17 I believe) in a pinkish shade. I love both coats and leaning towards the more relaxed fit of the pink trench. I've tried on the currently available heritage Waterloo but it isn't as relaxed as the one I have. Found the Westminster online, but it seems to be a discontinued range for women.
Does anyone here have any experience with this model? From the pictures it looks a lot more like the one I'm trying to emulate but I'm a bit hesitant as I can't try it on...
Many thanks

My Last Massaccesi

I've been searching for a bag that embodies "carribbean sea". That perfect combination of blue and green...lighter than turquoise/teal but darker than Marco's Sea Green. Maybe a more pastelly turquoise? I've been looking at the samples on his site and I think the Deep Celeste is too dark, but regular Celeste (Fiore or Merinos) might be okay. I'm also wondering about Azurro (Nappa). Does anyone have any bag pix they could post of these colors? Or another color that whispers "I'm in the Carribbean" to you?

Deciphering Bergdorf Goodman hang tag/ticket

I purchased a pre loved Gucci dress online and was surprised when it arrived that it had a Bergdorf hang tag on it. Can anyone lend some expertise about some of the codes on the tag, which might help date the garment?

I found a guide online that says the info listed on the tag below the barcode is: department (303), class (150), season code (R7137), sku (which is labelled), vendor number (786392), style (72234.), with the colour name (black) and price (119500) listed in smaller print. The season code is if particular interest.

I am also including a photo of the only tag the dress itself has - notably there is no care tag in the inside, nor any evidence of where one might have been removed. It is interesting that this was sized with L rather than dress size.

Thanks in advance for any help that might be useful in dating this!

Is it Worth Kiwi Spraying this Vachetta?

I have read thread after thread, sorry if this has already been asked a million times. I got this preloved speedy b for a great deal and it has a nice patina.

I have sprayed kiwi on new vachetta bags before and it worked great for me! I assume it wouldn't hurt a bag that already has some patina? Thanks for your reply!

Bag stuffing question

When you stuff your bags, what do you use? How much do you use? The paper that came in my satchel, I believe makes bumps and lumps in the leather, when used as stuffing. I’m trying a couple towel instead to see if those bumps and lumps smooth out a little. Any ideas to smooth out the tiny bumps and lumps? is there a such thing as overstuffing Florentine leather bags?

Shopping reveal! ️

I caught this a few nights ago when I suddenly awoke at 4am. I broke my own rule and shopped (late night shopping is bad - bad decisions).

Anyway, I’ve been after a medium PS1 for some time, and this “Crinkled Patent Black” turned up in sale and I decided to go for it.

I’ve always been turned off by plain leather black and it occurred to me this one is a bit more protective because of the patent. According to leather care info online, I can wipe it over with damp cloth if need be.

Anyway, I’m really quietly pleased right now. And I’m kind of addicted to the “shiny” even if it attracts attention. I’m intrigued by how “hard wearing” it will be long term having bought a light pink suede bag a year ago (blue corners after first flight). I absolutely love the 5-compartments!!

Five years of wear - Victorine Wallet

Sharing what five years of daily use looks like. I bought my Victorine in May 2018 to use as a compact wallet and liked it so much I never moved out of it (other than for travel or to use card cases in small bags for evenings out).

The glazing is worn on one side and the button needs replacing, but when I went in to have it repaired I decide to replace it instead. I was quoted $240 re reglazing (Canadian) and $140 to replace the button. Not worth it.

Upgraded to black empreinte. Hope I get as much use out of this one as my original.

Any other ladies here a fan of the men’s collection?

Last month my husband and I were in the Louis Vuitton store and he showed me a district p.m. messenger bag in damier graphite canvas. My immediate reaction was “I can’t buy that, it’s a man’s bag” but then I tried it on, and I found it to be super cute and really practical. I bought it to try out and I am obsessed. I love it so much that I then purchased a pre-loved outdoor sling bag in metallic silver and I have worn that several times when I am running errands and when I am traveling. It has replaced my Lululemon belt bag as my grab and go.

The only bad news for me is now there are twice as many Louis Vuitton bags for me to consider when I go to the store!

if you are loving the men’s bags, please share!

Which Chanel Single Flap Bag?

I have been wanting a vintage Chanel flap bag but I have found different versions that all look very similar. Can someone please identify the exact names of these bags and the size difference?

The fist link is from Depop which has an extra back pocket/flap and it looks like it can be made into a double shoulder strap.

The second link is from Fashionphile which I think is called a medium single flap but why is the first bag from Depop also called a single flap bag. It looks like this bag does not have the back pocket and is only a single chain shoulder strap.

I really like the bag from Depop but cannot find any other consignment sites that sell it.

ID the handbag worn by Elaine Hendricks as Meredith Blake in The Parent Trap (bonus points if you can identify the exact hat too!)? It's gorgeous!

See photos. Her handbag is GORGEOUS but I haven't been able to find an exact match! So far this is the closest one I found: https://en.standoil.kr/product/coco-bag-black/410/

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I already posted this on r/handbags on Reddit but so far got no leads. Thank you so much in advance!

Help ! Does this happen to your bayswater ?

Hi ,
I just got a new mulberry classic bayswater in classic grain brand new from FF online ( first time ) two weeks ago . It arrived fine but after using it twice , I found these obvious and ugly horizontal “popping up” creases on the flap of the bag! Can someone pls let me know if this is normal and if it happens to your bayswater ? And is there anything I can do ? Creases on leather are normal but this looks very weird . Hope to have some insights !
Thanks in advance
