That's a horrifying experience, that unfortunatly, your friend brought upon herself by acting crass in store.

How come your friend didn't know that it was a fake, if she looked at it online and saw the price... if it was that off, then she should have asked her sister where it came from.

What a horrible experience! I can't even imagine what your friend felt at the time. I agree with others that she could have handled the situation more subtly, to diffuse the situation.

If its her sister then surely she can be honest with her and just admit its not exactly her style, could she have the receipt to change it - then you will know if she knew it was a fake or not - depending where she got it. I think her sister probably didn't know, I wouldnt have been able to spot fakes b4 this forum!

Its a shame that her sister might think she bought her something special that she liked, but really she binned it!

Poor girl!:worried:

Maybe your friend's sister just thought her (presumably) slightly poorer sibling would be grateful to have the look of an LV and that it didn't matter, because she's not a millionaire?

People are strange! ;)

If I were her sister I would have told her up front the bag was a fake. What kind of relationship do they have?

Not too close...very formal and competative :( :shame:
She's good now, and she is a sweet heart.

oh my....

what happened to getting the receipt from her sister?

She was never going to really go back. It hit her really hard that her sister lied to her and left her feeling obligated to return a 2K+ gift.
She just thanked her sister left it at that.

This is what concerns me if I want to buy designer stuff as gifts for my cousins oversea. I don't want them to doubt the authenticity of the gift so I always include the receipt and have it gift wrapped by the store.
