Your Forever Handbag... What is It?

I am getting to understand that my forever bags are a balance of rugged and elegant. These are not the museum pieces but the regularly worn.

Gucci BTH: Naturally strong, irregular bamboo handle (feels so good in the hand) and bold-rounded lines.

Hermes Bolide: Clean Modern shape, rolled handles, does smart and casual.

I admire others like H Kellys, and some I wear even more like the Evie, but Kelly is more on the side of elegant and Evie the rugged. It's the absolute balance that makes a forever bag for me.
Beautifully said-- it's all about balance :flowers:

I love this description - “rugged and elegant”.

I forgot about Gucci bamboo! I always loved the clean lines of the Nymphea!

I think I’ve finally realized I’m too fickle to have a “forever” bag. At least I’m not churning through them as often as I used to…I’m keeping them and bringing them out to re-use every once in a while. Right now my vintage LV Speedy 25 is great - easy to use, fuss-free, classic, goes with everything.

But that doesn’t stop me from dreaming of my HG. I used to think it was a Hermes Kelly, but let’s be honest….it has a fiddlely closure, too ladylike for my style, and even vintage is SOOO expensive. Right now, the ones that I could see myself using forever are a Valextra Series S or a Loewe Amazona or a custom Peter Nitz
