My first real expensive designer handbag was a classic lamb Chanel flap. Boy, was I proud I could finally afford it!

Yeah, my first was a Chanel as well, but a small black lambskin evening bag with a camellia flower on it. It was the cheapest bag I wanted to afford in the shop back then (never thought of getting such expensive bags!). I was very proud to get one myself too, for my very own birthday (31st)!! After that, I fell into that Chanel well of obsession and splurged more into getting some classic flaps, GST, vintage bags and accessories (even makeup and perfume!). I just LOVE Chanel! Before that first expensive purchase I never thought of buying a designer bag like that. Chanel got me started on this :)

What was your first designer handbag (post a pic!)?
How did you decide what to buy?
Did you have your heart set on a designer? Or did you fall in love with a specific brand?

My first was a Fossil, I think sometime around the late 90s. It was made of cloth and leather and I eventually gave it to my daughter. Today I have a fair collection of Fossil.

My first premier designer handbag is the Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM in Damier Ebene. I bought that in Dec 2010 at the LV shop in Macy's at Herald Square. I remember being excited and a little shakey. It was the most money I had ever spent on a bag up until that point. It's a great shopper. Easy to care fore and just really pretty. I love the red interior.

My first premier designer bag is a LV NF MM in Ebene - love it and still wear it! I only got it a little over a year ago and it's still in excellent shape.

My first contemporary designer bag is Coach, like many people. It was a gift from my sister when I was in high school. Beautiful leather satchel - I still have it, but don't wear it anymore as it's not really my style.
