Hi All, Been trying to decide between these two watches as only gold watch in small collection. Currently have large Louis Cartier Tank Watch and Black J12. Probably won't get another gold watch and would like this to be an enduring timepiece that can pass down to daughter as well. Appreciate all your opinions! Thank you so much!

Thank you! I’m def looking for smaller side since wanted it to be a more classic size that fits wrist well and can be worn formal as well as casual. Love panthere and had originally planned to get that but had wanted mini size so got thrown off by that no longer being available. Small is also super nice though and love your watch ehy210! I have tried on that version before and it’s so pretty. Do you like diamonds there or do you feel it makes it too dressy and harder to wear casually? I have very few formal events so while I would like to be able to wear there if desired, my life is usually a lot more casual

Thank you all for your thoughts! JenayB, lately the BB has really been singing to me too and love that straps interchangeable in case want it to be a little less flashy etc. Love that it is automatic. Since it is a new style for Cartier though, do you think will stand the test of time?

Yes, I do.

I think that it came out in the mid 2000s if I'm not mistaken, so it's definitely a "younger" style, you are right; however, I think it was an instant classic and is very recognizable as Cartier without the flash/bling. I have several girlfriends that own this watch and I have never heard a complaint.

Any votes for BB?
Yes. the Smaller watch trend reminds me of the 1980s, and that’s not a good thing. The BB is a bit too refined for my taste, and i probably would prefer a watch with a chunky bracelet like a pasha. But I wear big gold jewelry these days, so I personally would not pick a bracelet watch. I’ve switched from Rolex back to cartier, and now I dont really want either. they seem like part of a well to do woman’s uniform. . .

I thought about a gold Alange type1 on a strap. The problem is that I actually prefer white metal on a watch. at this point, I’ve even thought of a vintage pocket watch on a leather lanyard as a bag charm lol.

ETA: the BB seems to be a relatively modern classic.

Thank you for your comments! I know most ppl get the BB in 36mm in SS. I'm planning for the 33mm in YG. Planning for 33mm partially for budget, partially since am petite and don't want it to feel like a huge watch since figure will be more versatile that way. Sound reasonable or is the larger 36mm look better for BB?

For me, a 36mm sized slightly loose and casual is the way to go. It's so subjective, but that's my personal opinion.

It really depends on the size and style of the watch you want to purchase. Did you try them on in person?

The BB does come in smaller version and comes in all yellow gold! I am assuming you want the smaller version unless you want an oversized watch then the BB would be your choice.

The panthere is a danty watch and looks good on a woman!

Their both special watches but in the end only YOU can choose which fits your lifestyle!

Looking for a YG watch that is both casual and yet, can be dressed up. Was going to go all YG, but no diamonds to help make it more versatile. Was deciding between 33mm YG BB and small YG panthere. Had leaned towards 33mm since its the smallest size that is still automatic. Anyways, love both and cant wait until they are available to try on. Waiting for pieces to come in! Hopefully one will just speak to me when I see it in person and choice will be obvious!

Loving all your insights and opinions though, so thank you!

I went back and forth between diamonds and no diamonds for a long time. I initially thought it would be “too much” but no longer feel that way. At the store, the bright lights make it look a lot more bling bling and flashy. In reality, the diamonds are small and subtle under everyday lighting. I wear it daily and find it easy to dress down as it is a small faced watch. I love the extra touch of diamonds as it makes it a little more feminine. Actually, if I am dressing up I usually skip my panthere watch and put on other statement bracelets for the evening.
