Yellowing - Do white bags turn yellow with time? How do you prevent this?

I have the white caviar hybrid flap, from 2 years ago, and it's still a very bright and clean and crisp looking white. But then I have the 4 seasons too, and this bag usually just get's used in the summer.

I have had other white leather bags (various brands) and have never had this yellowing issue.

I have a black patent Prada purse that never yellowed and it has to be more than a decade old. I carry it in bad weather because I don't care about it anymore.

I have black patent shoes that never changed. I don't think patent yellowing is a problem. It's the plastic (PVC) stuff that yellow and clouds over time, not patent... in my experience.
I beg to differ, I had a white patent prada bag that yellowed.

I have a white caviar classic flap that is over three years old. It's still as white as the day I bought it. I sprayed Vectra 16 on it 3x before using, do not leave it sitting out in direct light (always in the dustbag). I've worn it with dark denim & no color transfer. I have black leather seats in my vehicle and do not set it directly on them during hot weather (just in case). I think that the lambskin would discolor easier than the caviar because it's much more delicate. My travel/airplane bag is a light gold/silver caviar shopper because it's so durable & can be tossed around/go through security/etc without worry. The white does need a bit more care than say a black, but it's gorgeous & worth it imho. ;)

Thats the first time I heard of vectra 16. I looked it up on it's websight and it looks promising. Do you think it works well on lambskin as well for protecting it from rain and stains?

Tweedcorail: I'm not sure about vectra too, i won't water-proof my lambskin personally but maybe will pre-treat it to give it a little water-resistant and against future stain :) I use blackrock leathercare a little and I apply 2 coats.. Luccibag had a threat which she used Meltonian all purpose cleaner and conditioner on her caviar and lambskin :)

Yes! I have used it on my lambskin as well as on other leathers (jackets, shoes & bags), silk (including a Lanvin organza silk coat), satin (toss pillows), cashmere (sweaters), suede (, shoes & bags)....anything & everything. It protects from the outdoor elements as well as make-up, dirt, some food items, etc. It can go through a few cleanings before having to re-apply.
