I want to make clear that I have no idea if the bag (or any other item) he sells is authentic or even exists. He could be stealing all his photos from other ppl.

All I know is he sells a bag using my photo, which he posted in a listing without my permission misleading ppl by implying that the bag in the picture is the one he sells. In addition he uses the tpf member status as a plus point, and everyone can easily search tpf and find this picture of mine and assume this is an ok bag, authentic, from a tpf member and go through the auction without second thoughts. This is fraud, misleading information.
It is not like re posting a picture from a forum in a discussion, we do that all the time here, it is not unethical. He will make money out of this bag and one of the reasons is my bag and the photo he steals from me. I wish you could sense my frustration and how used I feel.

And I seriously can't understand why a seller with 100% positive feedback would risk his reputation by stealing my pic. It certainly raises suspicion.

I once ran into my own picture of a Chanel necklace on eBay. I contacted the seller and reported her to eBay. The listing was removed, but I don't know by the seller or by eBay. I searched her name later on Tpf and found out the she was often 'guilty' of stealing pictures. It is always better to watermark the pictures.
Just to add: sorry it happened to you and I know how mad you feel. :flowers:

I am such a watermarking klutz... Must do a better job. This is a lesson to me.

I am a little confused by the seller's background and would like to know more. I see a gold Lindy that was sold on January 26 for $4,000...again on February 7 for $4,550...and again on March 3 for $4,999. All have the same images, and the date/craftsman stamps are identical.

This could be a rare case of several non-paying bidders, because I see no feedback for the seller or buyer for any of the bags. But I also see a Chanel sweater dress (same images) that was sold two times.

Perhaps the seller is astonishingly unlucky collecting after a sale. Or there could be other reasons.

At this point it is all conjecture, of course. No one has heard from the seller and I am trying to keep my comments measured until I learn more.

Ok this is getting really weird I just created an acc to contact the seller personally, as lilygoodwin25. I would love to resolve this quickly. I have info on the seller's id in TPF and I really hope she is reading this and removes this picture now.

The listing is still on but I can't contact her

^you have to check the "other" box when you get to the questions page. then you type in your question as well as a number code so ebay knows you're not some kind of scammer.

go to the "ask the seller a question" link at the bottom of the listing page.

EBay asks that people do not communicate with each other directly when this happens. There are problems sometimes when people directly confront a seller.

On the listing page there is a "report this item" link. Click on this and make your report. In cases of stolen images, they need to hear from the actual owner.

Again, eBay strongly urges members never to do this themselves but to use the report function. When you use the report function, eBay will also have a record of the problem and the resolution, which is important.

I will wait until later, the time difference must be a factor that the listing is still on. My DH has reported it already, if I report it again with a new id we will lose credibility, or make things worse.

He reported it as his own picture, which is not a lie. We use the same camera, and use the same the same pc. If nothing happens until later tonight I will see to it again.
