The Bennetts are very cute and I don't think there is any FP equivalent. They're like the Retiro NM by Louis Vuitton, but less tall. For me, that's fine because it's not similar to their other offerings but I dislike when they're just recreating the same bags and SLGs from the FP over and over again. I would rather they just put the deletes and *unique* to MFF designs in the outlets.

I spent $77 on a Jessica Simpson bag and felt crazy. It was pleather and started chipping and peeling in year 3. I am 100% behind leather bags at Coach outlets, just exasperated at the style regurgitation I guess.

Exactly, regarding cheaper bags because at least these should hold up/last longer even if you don't get one of their higher priced bags. I understand with the waiting. There was only one bag I got for over $200 and that was my first coach bag (Madison Hobo in Silt) that my mother got for me. I wanted in so bad when I first saw it in store and loved the color! I now have two madison hobo's and still love them both. Luckily for me, I haven't found any bags that I feel I need when they come out so I am okay waiting for deals.

Yeah I'm excited for her, she takes her boards this month for veterinary school! I'm an RN so I understand where you're at. Congrats on going back for your RN!

Good luck to her! I know it's hard studying and trying to stay sane :p and thank you so much!!

I've gotten a LV bag (favorite mm mono) pre loved and lusted over it for weeks on end, and when I finally got it, I used it for a week and got bored. I didn't make as much money as I sold it for but that's ok...I'm more careful this time around though lol

I don't think there's any hate for the outlets in the general public. The posters here are much more educated than the average shopper, and I believe many here are live and let live, unless the outlets come out with knock-offs that devalue their FP pieces. The important thing is to be yourself and express yourself with whatever bags fit you best. I've got everything from four figure leather LV's to hand made cloth bags from farmers' markets. My DH's favorite bag of mine is my MFF coated canvas stars mini Cora, which was inexpensive by TPF standards. By the vast majority of the world's standards, even the price of an MFF bag is a crazy amount to spend on a purse. The mini Bennetts are very nice, and are a classic shape that will never go out of style. Don't be worried that it isn't FP, go on with your bad self and rock the heck out of it.

As has already been stated, crossgrain is real leather. My understanding is leather kinda goes from glove tanned at the top, to pebbled, then to everything else (crossgrain, saffiano, patent, etc).

The important thing is to be yourself and express yourself with whatever bags fit you best. - totally agree w/ this statement, actually with everything you said :D
You're right though

Agree 100% with these statements. JS bags were my most expensive bags before I started buying "higher end" bags and thought I was getting a good deal at those prices, lol. You're absolutely right about the peeling and chipping. Within 2 years, those straps looked horrible! Didn't even bother trying to sell them, didn't even feel right sending them to GW because of how bad they looked and I thought I took good care of my bags!

I have a question, is the crossgrain leather lesser quality? I just got one in crossgrain leather and I believe since it's from the outlet it's MFF?

Also,

I didn't realize the hate against the outlets lol I'm just a college student I can't get the FP but I do love the designers. I can't justify spending more than $200 on a bag, only speaking for myself, because I lust over silhouettes and designs so easily, but once I get them I use them once and eh. That's just me though!

But seriously, crossgrain leather is faux leather is it?

As said cross grain is a "type" of leather not plastic, vinyl etc. As for outlet bags, the opinions will vary. I do own some btw, so i am speaking from experience and i also own FP(boutique ) bags/items.

Quality varies but frankly that can be said for the boutique items, please do not feel like your carrying a lesser class bag, most people wouldn't have a clue nor give a flying fig anyways. Even my oldest daughter has MFF & FP items she buys what she likes.

The main gripe these days is them taking FP designs and echoing them into MFF and it seems even now a blatant copy of them lol. It does muddy the waters a bit.

Enjoy your bag! it's cute and fun... for the price point it is very nice, many vinyl bags sell for the same range so at least it's leather!

Truer words could not have been spoken lol. That is the trouble with this place, reality of what is 'cheap' is massively lost.

I am guilty of it to so not sitting on my high horse(even tho mine are short :roflmfao:) just simply sayin' this place is NOT realistic, it shows the most extremes possible of purses.

Buy what you love and can afford, i take pleasure in all bags, from simple handicraft types through to those 4 figure kinds. :smile1:

This is really going the luxury route, Coach, because we all know LV, Chanel, and Hermes have factory versions of their full price bags at their outlets, lol.

Don't get me wrong- I have an outlet Cora from last year that's awesome (although the hardware is fading). But Coach is just so confused! Lol.

I wanted to pop in here. I own the FP small floral borough. I don't use it much but can't part with it either. I ordered the small crossbody floral tote from the current factory sale & received today. Not only am I thrilled with the size & the crossbody option, I really cannot tell the difference beteween the print or the material when comparing the borough with the tote. The Coach emblem is the same (raised individual letters & carriage, not stamped) also which is nice.
I guess to each their own. While I don't necessarily like to see MFF copies of the higher end bags, I feel this tote is a perfect example of when a MFF bag option is truly a good deal!

I do not like this . At all. The whole idea of outlets was to sell old collections at deeply discounted prices. Nowadays made for factory means company is producing its own fakes. Ha-ha-ha! Lost my interest . I have no energy or time to to compare fp and mff quality and prices( never meant to be , completely illusional msrp mff prices) . If they want to produce and to sell cheaper line of products they should stand so and change the logo as well. That stinks what they do.

I think I need to clarify that I never meant to imply that outlet bags are somehow inferior to boutique bags! I just found it puzzling why Coach would reproduce the exact same print they used last year in their FP bags and use it as a MFF line .

In some cases MFF is at par with FP, but I think many of us on the forum feel FP is better qualify overall (emphasis overall) than MFF. I've made very clear on other threads I don't like cross hatched or crossgrain leather which seems to be the current FP "go to" choice. To me the coated canvas is an even more diluted medium. I know LV has used coated canvas for years, but that's their "thing" and their customers choice. The duplication of the pattern on the coated canvas, which Coach has done before with near copies (pink and red hearts items recently) I think is intentional to mislead customers into thinking the items are the same. It seems the FP and MFF are merging closer and closer.

I just bought two FP Nomads, I hope they are up to the usual level I hope for, it's been a while since I bought a bag. Coach business has dwindled on my part.

I own the zip tote in winter floral from last year, actually using it today

Not a fan of the cross grain leather, my tote has corner wear - showed it to the SA at Coach was told to moisturizer it, really thought that was a funny statement - think they just wanted me to buy the product

When I saw the FOS version I am not going to lie, I was a little pissed at Coach for doing this, the totes are not the same but similar looking, it seems the new direction that Coach is taking is circular -

+ 1. I have noticed quality issues with my MFF Swingpack.

When they had the Briar Rose pattern (same time that they had the Badlands Rose design), they released a FP tote and SLGs. Several months later, there was the exact same zip top tote at the FOS that was nearly identical except for two items I recall:
1 - The leather handles were slightly shorter
2 - The zipper was surrounded by black cloth instead of the Briar Rose pattern leather of the FP version

I think this is an instance of them reusing leather materials or possibly selling leftover materials at a lower price point to capture sales that were made on specific lines only during PCEs. If you cannot get a customer to pay full price and they only buy it during PCEs, you can get them to buy almost an identical bag at or around a PCE FP item price point, but you can save on materials cost.

Either way, I was kind of annoyed by that since I feel like just make a new design already and make. the. price. the. price! Some of their FP designs I loved sold out so quickly and I wouldn't have minded a MFF version but it never happened lol. Hello, Borough???
