WOW another Factory clone!

Here's another similar situation. First tote is FP and pebbled leather. Second tote is MFF and cross grain leather. Both currently available, and from a distance appear identical to me (without looking at the leather up close).

This is why I cannot fork over money for FP purses. We all know that they're either going to become FP deletes or get remade into MFF lines. I understand how this is irksome, knowing that you did spend much more on it.

I agree that this is annoying. It's really an odd thing when the FP is mimicking another high end brand's design or silhouette, and then the MFF looks like a FP inspired bag that was an homage to a higher end brand lol.

Some of the MFF bags have cloth enclosures around the zippers whereas FP is leather up to the zipper. Honestly, I started buying Coach at the factory/outlet because I saw an eye-catching shape, but now that I know I can get even better quality AND a good price at the FP sales or department store sales for the FP model, I have no incentive to buy MFF unless it's a delete.

The MFF line in this print is coated canvas, not printed leather. The main reason is ordered is because it will be mostly a winter bag for me, and I'm hoping the coated canvas will do well in bad weather. I'm not good about babying my bags in wintertime.

I'm not good at baby thing them either. And good idea! Hope you love your bag cause I think the pattern is super cute

I have a question, is the crossgrain leather lesser quality? I just got one in crossgrain leather and I believe since it's from the outlet it's MFF?

Also,

I didn't realize the hate against the outlets lol I'm just a college student I can't get the FP but I do love the designers. I can't justify spending more than $200 on a bag, only speaking for myself, because I lust over silhouettes and designs so easily, but once I get them I use them once and eh. That's just me though!

But seriously, crossgrain leather is faux leather is it?

No, crossgrain is not faux leather.......just not a higher quality of leather as some others.

Me either, which is why I wait until they go on sale or have a deep discount. Sure I may get a bag 9-12 months after it originally came out but I don't rotate bags that frequently so it works for me. My sister is in medical school and can only afford to get the bags from the outlets or from good sales. I feel as long as you love what you buy and feel that you got a bag for a price you are comfortable with, that's all that matters!

Yeah exactly! Coach is not a bad brand at all, although I know outlets aren't up to par with FP, I can definitely justify my purchase because they do the job better than a trendy bag from the mall for $30.... made of my worst enemy, FAUX LEATHER.

Waiting hurts though because it's always a risk since the pattern or style may sell out or never be reproduced again

Yay! Good for her, I'm going from lvn to my RN so I know the struggle Lol... and it's definitely hard and expensive!

Exactly, regarding cheaper bags because at least these should hold up/last longer even if you don't get one of their higher priced bags. I understand with the waiting. There was only one bag I got for over $200 and that was my first coach bag (Madison Hobo in Silt) that my mother got for me. I wanted in so bad when I first saw it in store and loved the color! I now have two madison hobo's and still love them both. Luckily for me, I haven't found any bags that I feel I need when they come out so I am okay waiting for deals.

Yeah I'm excited for her, she takes her boards this month for veterinary school! I'm an RN so I understand where you're at. Congrats on going back for your RN!

I don't think there's any hate for the outlets in the general public. The posters here are much more educated than the average shopper, and I believe many here are live and let live, unless the outlets come out with knock-offs that devalue their FP pieces. The important thing is to be yourself and express yourself with whatever bags fit you best. I've got everything from four figure leather LV's to hand made cloth bags from farmers' markets. My DH's favorite bag of mine is my MFF coated canvas stars mini Cora, which was inexpensive by TPF standards. By the vast majority of the world's standards, even the price of an MFF bag is a crazy amount to spend on a purse. The mini Bennetts are very nice, and are a classic shape that will never go out of style. Don't be worried that it isn't FP, go on with your bad self and rock the heck out of it.

As has already been stated, crossgrain is real leather. My understanding is leather kinda goes from glove tanned at the top, to pebbled, then to everything else (crossgrain, saffiano, patent, etc).
