Would you spend $1K on high quality CZ studs?

I would not pay that much for CZ’s. I actually wouldn’t pay more than about $100 or so and that’s only for fun party jewelry.

If you’ve got $1000 to spend, why not save it to put towards real diamonds? You could even start with smaller ones, at many jewelry stores they will even accept them back and allow you to eventually trade up for larger ones.

Might I even suggest checking a local pawn shop in your area, you might be able to find some there at a steal!!!

Yes, I decided to get a starter set. I love them for now and know that I will upgrade in the future. I went with GIA XXX cert: .61 each, H&A, VVSI and VSI, and color J. I have larger ears, so I know 1 carat in each ear would be my ideal size. Here is a pic:16F49D52-8DEB-4604-90E0-189E46DFC14B.jpeg

Congrats, they look beautiful! I love diamond studs because they are so classy, you put them in and can really forget about them because they do literally go with anything!

No. i would argue the wording is ambiguous and it doesn't really say it's not moissanite. Here's the exact wording "No. The crystal structure of the Amora Gem is distinct, and optically superior, to the crystal structure of Moissanite by Charles and Colvard." I am not a gem expert, but a Chemical Engineer. A moissanite is a broad term that refers to much more than one synthetic diamond look alike, but refers to the many different structures of SiC or of Silicon Carbides. This is why it cannot be trademarked as it is naturally occurring and Charles and Colvard simply figured out how to synthetically make it. Much like lab created diamonds or pearls. What I suspect is that it is different than the moissanite by CC which they state on the website, but it is still moissanite which is why they are careful to say it is different than the one created by Charles and Colvard. Charles and Colvard probably have a patent on their "moissanite" and now Amora does too. Just because something is in the SiC family does not make it moissanite correct like the diamond graphite example, however, in this case it is not a valid argument because moissanite refers to all of its crystal structures (someone can correct me if I am wrong) because the different structures are very similar in nature.

I saw 2 weeks ago in costco a pair of diamond earrings. Halo i think and it was so sparkly. Itwas 945 cad. When i came back after a week it was gone! That was a very good price. I bought a pair of diamond studs from one of the chain jewelry store in the mall more than a year ago for 700 cad and it was so small. That one in costco was really big and beautiful.

No, I would not spend that much on CZ earrings, though I like CZ. WinkCZ has nice studs in 14k settings for around $300. (TPFers have had good things to say about WinkCZ over the years.) You can also buy moissonite studs for that price. CZ stones are really cheap. Check out the prices on WinkCZ. Even high-quality CZ stones are cheap. You're basically paying for the setting.

Wink has a good rep and I have bought several CZ rings from them. Moissanite is nice because it is REALLY sparkly which I like...

I had a cocktail ring handed down to me and removed the large diamond to put in a modern setting. I had my jeweler put a CZ back in the cocktail ring so I could still wear it for fun, as the setting was lovely. It was less than $300 to do that for about 1/2 carat size center CZ.
